Can you believe that it’s already Week 9 of the CFL season?
All of the action will begin on Thursday, when the Calgary Stampeders visit the Ottawa Redblacks. That game will be followed by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hosting the Toronto Argonauts on Friday. The week will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday, with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats visiting the Edmonton Elks in the early game, and the Montreal Alouettes hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the late contest.
The Roughriders have the shortest Grey Cup outright odds at +275, with the Alouettes and Tiger-Cats nipping at their heels with identical +300 odds.

Three CFL Week 9 picks
- Tiger-Cats team total over 29.5 points: -115 @ BetVictor. Hamilton is averaging 32.1 points per game this season and has eclipsed this mark in four of its seven games to this point, including its last two contests. And now, they get to pounce on the league’s worst defence, which is allowing an average of 31.8 points per game and 426 total yards of offence. Ticats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell leads the league with 2,201 passing yards and the team has won five straight games after opening the season with two losses. Hamilton should have no problem putting at least 30 points on the board Saturday afternoon.
- Argonauts moneyline: +150 @ BetRivers. The Argonauts prevailed 31-17 over the Blue Bombers in Week 8 in Toronto, and they’re in a good position to compete again in this week’s rematch in Winnipeg. The Bombers are decimated by injuries, and will have Chris Streveler in at quarterback in place of first-stringer Zach Collaros. Five starters will be out for Winnipeg, with three other players questionable to suit up. Toronto is looking for a third straight win, and the offence is currently rolling with veteran Nick Arbuckle at quarterback.
- Dedrick Mills over 78.5 rushing yards: -110 @ bet365. Stampeders quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. won’t dress due to injury vs. the Redblacks, giving P.J. Walker his first CFL start. With Walker under centre, you can expect Calgary to lean heavily on its ground game, and that means Mills should see some increased usage against Ottawa, which is allowing an average of 100.1 yards per game on the ground (sixth-worst in CFL). The Stampeders lead the league with 127.6 rushing yards per game, with Mills ranking second in the league (544 yards through seven games) in rushing behind BC’s James Butler. Mills has topped this number in four of his seven games this season, and should see 20 carries or more in this contest.
