Prince of Wales Stakes Betting Canada
The Prince of Wales Stakes is the second jewel in Canadian thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown. First contested back in 1959 at Fort Erie Race track, in Ontario, Canada, it is the track’s signature event of the season.

The second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the Prince of Wales Stakes is the signature event of Fort Erie Race Track. Held in July, the race is run at 9.5 furlongs on dirt and was offered for a purse of $500,000 in 2016. Inaugurated in 1929, the event was established at the now-defunct Thorncliffe Park Raceway and was also held at Old Woodbine Racetrack for a short time before being switched to Fort Erie in 1959.

Instead, however, Stronach opted to send his Canadian-bred runner to the Prince of Wales Stakes where Harlem Rocker found the winner’s circle. Harlem Rocker also won the Withers Stakes and crossed the wire first in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile before being placed second by virtue of a controversial disqualification.
