An anytime goal-scorer bet is one of the most popular and straightforward player prop wagers in NHL betting. It allows you to bet on a specific player to score a goal at any point during the game, whether it’s the first goal, last goal, or any goal in between. This bet type offers an exciting way to stay engaged with the game, as your selected player can score at any moment to cash your bet.
Let’s take a look at three skaters to parlay to score a goal in the NHL on Tuesday night, which could also be played as a round robin wager.
Alex DeBrincat to Score: +150
Alex DeBrincat to score vs. Kraken
Out of all eight games tonight, DeBrincat is considered the ninth-most likely skater to score a goal based on bet365‘s betting odds. While oddsmakers are obviously high on the chances that DeBrincat will record his 10th goal of the season in Tuesday’s matchup versus the Seattle Kraken, a price of +150 still seems pretty generous when you dive into the matchup.
DeBrincat has scored five goals over the last three games, and there is a clear argument for his improved production in that he’s been bumped up to the Red Wings’ top offensive unit alongside Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond after spending most of the early part of the season playing on the team’s second line.
Not only has Detroit’s newly-formed top unit been extremely productive where it counts in scoring 7.17 goals per 60, but the trio has generated 4.59 xGF/60 in 41.9 minutes of play together, with many of those chances coming to DeBrincat in particular. Over the last four games, DeBrincat has recorded 19 shots on goal from 29 attempts.
Over the entirety of the season, DeBrincat ranks second in the NHL in individual expected goals, and given his elite shooting abilities and the fact that more of those chances have come recently in his newfound role, that’s a pretty compelling statistic for a price of +150 for DeBrincat to score.
Matt Coronato to Score: +260
Matt Coronato to score vs. Blackhawks
Over the last two seasons, the Flames hold a shooting percentage of just 7.12%, which is the lowest shooting percentage in the NHL. There is a serious lack of finishing talent in Calgary’s lineup, and as Coronato has had a disappointing start to the season, that point has been particularly apparent because he arguably holds the best shot on the team.
Coronato put up 24 goals in 77 games last season and was generally pegged as a likely candidate for a full-fledged breakout this season playing on a Flames side that lacks much scoring upside. Coronato has started to be more productive playing alongside Jonathan Huberdeau and Morgan Frost on Calgary’s top line, and he’s been on the end of a ton of quality scoring chances recently.
Over the last five games, Coronato has recorded a whopping 30 shots on goal, from a total of 43 attempts on goal. He’s racked up 2.79 expected goals in that span, which is quite encouraging considering his +260 price tag in Tuesday’s matchup and the fact that he is a strong shooter.
The Blackhawks hold the fourth-worst xGA/60 in the NHL this season, but number-one goaltender Spencer Knight has arguably been the best goaltender in the league to help cover up that flaw. It appears that backup Arvid Soderblom will get the start in Tuesday’s matchup, and as a result, this is a better-than-average matchup to back Coronato scoring.
Dylan Guenther to Score: +175
Dylan Guenther to score vs. Sharks
Guenther broke out with 27 goals in 70 games last season and is a career 13.3% shooter. His elite shooting abilities were the main reason he went ninth overall in the 2021 NHL draft, and he’s starting to live up to the hype of being a perennial 30-goal scorer. He has tallied at least one goal in eight of 19 (42%) games this season, which suggests as a blanket rule, if you believe he will score at a comparable rate moving forward, +175 is a pretty strong number given its implied probability of 36%.
Guenther gets a great matchup Tuesday as he takes on the San Jose Sharks, who have allowed 3.26 goals against per game this season and 3.69 xGA/60. He’s recorded goals in back-to-back games and 20 shots on goal over the last five, and this sets up as a great spot to target one of the game’s premier young goal scorers versus a shaky defensive side.
