Best bet-Josh Doan over 2.5 shots on goal: +125
Josh Doan over 2.5 shots on goal
There’s a lot to like regarding backing Doan in the player prop market Tuesday as he takes on the organization that drafted him 37th overall in 2021.
Just like his dad, Doan’s tremendous compete level in all areas of the ice was always expected to be a strength at the NHL level. His competitive nature has still been the part of his game that has stood out most significantly this season, but he’s shown significant strides in most offensive aspects of the game, finding pockets of space to get quality shots on target and creating chances for his linemates after dogged forechecking sequences.
Doan’s importance to the Sabres lineup will be more significant than usual tonight, as forwards Zach Benson, Jiri Kulich, and Jason Zucker are all expected to miss this matchup. As a result, Doan could see extra minutes versus his former side, as the Sabres’ bottom six looks quite concerning due to their absences up front.
Doan has generated 4.75 shot attempts per game this season and ranks second on the team with 11.89 shots on goal per 60. He’s played an average of just 15:08 per game this season, but has still recorded over 2.5 shots on target in seven of 12 games played entering this matchup.
Considering Doan’s potential increase in usage and the likelihood that Doan should be up for this matchup versus his former side, I’m happy to back him recording three shots at a price of +125 on Tuesday.
Best bet-Kirill Kaprizov over 1.5 points + Marco Rossi over 0.5 points parlay: +210
Kaprizov/Rossi points parlay
Minnesota’s top line of Kaprizov, Rossi, and Marcus Johansson should have an excellent chance of producing Tuesday night as they take on a weak Nashville Predators side that will be playing the second leg of a travelling back-to-back with backup Justus Annunen in goal.
Annunen holds a save percentage of .870 in his first two appearances this season, after finishing the 2024-25 campaign with a -9.1 GSAx rating and .883 save percentage in 34 appearances.
Prior to losing captain and number-one defender Roman Josi, the Predators’ play already looked comparably poor to last season. Their defensive form has been quite poor since Josi’s injury, as in six games without him they’ve allowed 4.05 xGA/60 and 30.98 shots against per 60.
Rossi has recorded 12 points in 12 games this season and enters this matchup in the midst of a five-game points streak in which he’s racked up two goals and five assists.
As has generally been the case when Kaprizov has been healthy over the last three seasons, he has been highly productive in recording 16 points in 13 games thus far.
Kaprizov is priced at +125 to record two points in this highly favourable matchup, but parlaying that bet with Rossi to get at least one point moves the price of the bet to +210. Given Rossi’s recent form, the price disparity between the two bets seems too wide, as the chances that a red-hot Rossi finds the scoresheet if Kaprizov has a multi-point evening are high.
