Super Bowl First Touchdown Betting

Each year millions of fans turn to the prop betting markets, with the Super Bowl first touchdown odds being one of the most popular lines. The Super Bowl LVI marks the 56th event and will be sure to another year inundated with first touchdown wagers.

The odds aren’t yet available for the Super Bowl First Touchdown, but as soon as they are we’ll be sure to update this page. The odds were last updated on February 2, 2022:

One thing bettors can be sure of is that the two teams that make it to the Super Bowl in California will be firing all cylinders, making accurately guessing the first touchdown scorer a real challenge.

Super Bowl First Touchdown Prob Bets

The range of potential scorers makes it a particularly interesting betting line, as the odds are typically quite favourable to punters. Both teams are likely to have a variety of potential offensive scorers, which can make it a tough task to find the correct wager.

It’s worth stating at this point that it can be difficult to find value in the odds, due to the various players that can make the first touchdown. In equal measures, the Super Bowl first touchdown odds always provide the opportunity to make some real cash.

Our panel of NFL experts will assess the odds from all the best sportsbooks available to Canadian bettors and come up with some possibilities for this year’s Super Bowl.

A brief history of Super Bowl touchdowns

Each year bettors flock to the prop betting sites to find the best props to support their game-based wagers. This year will be no different. But, who will be the one to grab that all-important first touchdown?

As so often is the case with sports, the stats rarely lie – and if nothing else, give insight into how things may go down on the day. Let’s take a look at the first touchdown from recent years.

  • Super Bowl LV – Rob Gronkowski (Buccaneers)
  • Super Bowl LIV – Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs)
  • Super Bowl LIII – Sony Michel (Patriots)
  • Super Bowl LII – Alshon Jeffery (Eagles)
  • Super Bowl LI – Devonta Freeman (Falcons)
  • Super Bowl 50 – Malik Jackson (Broncos)
  • Super Bowl XLIX – Brandon LaFell (Patriots)
  • Super Bowl XLVIII – Stephen Hauschka (Seahawks)
  • Super Bowl XLVII – Anguan Boldin (Ravens)
  • Super Bowl XLVI – Victor Cruz (Giants)
  • Super Bowl XLV – Jordy Nelson (Packers)

At the Super Bowl LIV, it was the San Francisco 49ers who first put up points on the board. But, it wasn’t long until the 2020 NFL and Super MVP Patrick Mahomes rushed to grab the first touchdown on the day – and it wasn’t a pass!

Taking a look back at the Super Bowl first touchdown odds 2021

The odds are yet to be released from major sportsbooks as the Super Bowl attendees are yet to be confirmed. Meaning we will take a look at players from teams we expect to see at the Raymond James Stadium, as well as stand-out players from NFL regular season.

Travis Kelce (KC Chiefs) – Always a force to reckon with and a player that has had an excellent regular season this year. Kelce has covered 1,416 yards in the regular season this year and managed to pick up a tidy 11 touchdowns in that time. The Chiefs have far too many receiving threats to tell who will be the first to cross the line – if they can overcome the Bills to make it to the Super Bowl – but this guy is certainly among the most likely to.

Super Bowl Touchdown Prob Bets

Tyreek Hill (KC Chiefs) – is the most electrifying player in the league and when he gets going there is little that can be done to stop him. With Mahomes comfortably picking any of five or six receivers available to him, it could be any of them. This isn’t great from a bettors’ perspective. But, if the price is fair on Hill, he’s certainly worth a punt. He’s run 1,276 yards and managed to tally up 15 touchdowns – a real talent.

Aaron Rodgers (GB Packers) – The standout player in the league this year. While many, including many of the top-tier sportsbook providers, expect the Chiefs to take the top prize again this year, it’s Rodgers who could be the one to stop them. He’s had the season of his life, picking up 48 TDs and throwing 4,299 yards throughout the regular season. If Rodgers continues to produce as he has, maybe even the Mahomes and his mighty Chiefs won’t be able to stop him.

Patrick Mahomes (KC Chiefs) – Mahomes was the one to break the deadlock against the 49ers at Super Bowl LIV. The focal point of a phenomenal Kansas City team, expect him to be pulling the strings once again if they make it to Tampa. Mahomes is the most dangerous player in the league when he’s dialed in.

Once again, we are unaware who will make it to the Super Bowl and top sportsbooks haven’t released any future odds regarding the first touchdown as of yet, so stay tuned and we’ll be sure to keep this page updated!
