NBA Playoff bracket predictions for 2019
The Milwaukee Bucks rule the eastern conference playoff bracket while the Golden State Warriors finished atop the western conference standings. Most NBA playoff predictions expect both number one seeds to meet at the finals, despite strong challeges from the Raptors and the Rockets.
Milwaukee Bucks vs Detroit Pistons
Milwaukee will have an opportunity to ramp up to playoff intensity with a tune-up series against the Detroit Pistons. Detroit basketball finished the season on a notable down swing, while the Bucks confirmed their impressive depth by clinching first overall. As such, the Bucks enjoy the easiest NBA playoff bracket.
Pick: Milwaukee: -5000 to win series.
Toronto Raptors vs Charlotte Hornets
The Toronto Raptors enter the post season healthy, ready to start a lengthy run to the finals. Trade deadline acquisition Marc Gasol enjoys improved cohesion with Leonard, Lowry and Ibaka, while Siakam, Green and VanVleet have shot the lights. The Magic will struggle to keep pace with one of the best, deepest teams in the east.
Pick: Toronto: -1050 to win series.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets
Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler will need to be spectacular if the 76ers expect to survive against top seeds in the east. Brooklyn's a tough, plucky squad which fully deserves their surprise playoff berth, but Philly's stars will be too much to handle.
Pick: Philadelphia: -650 to win series.
Boston Celtics vs Indiana Pacers
Indiana would have probably earned home advantage for this series if Vic Oladipo didn't suffer a season ending leg injury. Instead of a closely fought first round clash, the Boston Celtics will enjoy an opportunity to gather momentum with an easy win over an injured opponent.
Pick: Boston: -500 to win series.
Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Clippers
Bring out the brooms - Golden State will aim for a quick, four-game dismissal of the fading Clippers. Coach Doc Rivers deserves credit for guiding the Clippers to the post season, but there's no feasible upset here.
Pick: Golden State Warriors: -20000
Denver Nuggets vs San Antonio Spurs
Will the Nuggets melt under the bright glare of playoff scrutiny? Coach Popovich will devise methods of slowing Jokic and the Denver offense down, which could result in a seven-game slugfest. Home court advantage gives the Nuggets an edge.
Pick: Denver Nuggets: -240
Portland Trail Blazers vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Portland faces the unenviable task of entering the post season without big man Jusuf Nurkic. The Oklahoma City Thunder will run rampant at the rim, resulting in easy drives for Westbrook and George. Lillard might will the Blazers to a win or two, but this series belongs to OKC.
Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder: -141
Houston Rockets vs Utah Jazz
The Houston Rockets are one of the strong favorites to make the final of the conference against the Golden State Warriors. This playoff won't be easy, since the difference to the Utah Jazz in the regular season was not that much: 53 to 50 wins.
Pick: Houston Rockets: -325

What are the Types of NBA Playoff Odds
Sportsbooks offer nearly all of the same type of regular season standard and exotic bets for NBA playoff odds.
NBA Playoffs Moneyline
NBA playoff moneylines are a standard type of bet which involves predicting the straight up winner of an individual game during the post season. In North America, moneyline are often published as positive and negative numbers.
For example, if the New Orleans Pelicans are -150 favorites over the New York Knicks, you would need to bet $150 to win $100. Since the Knicks are the underdogs, they would have positive odds to win around +200, which means that you would win $200 for betting $100 on New York.
NBA Playoffs Spread
Vegas sports book offer NBA playoff spread betting throughout the post season. These wagering providers publish an estimated margin of victory for an individual game and fans wager on whether teams will beat the spread.
If the Toronto Raptors are listed as 6.5 point favorites over the Boston Celtics, Toronto would need to win by seven points or more to beat the spread and win the bet. However, if the Celtics lost by 6 points or less - or won the game straight up - Boston would win the spread bet.
NBA Playoffs Over Under
Over/unders for NBA playoff games are the third type of standard bet offered after the regular season finishes. Sportsbooks estimate the total number of points that will be scored by both teams during an individual match, and bettors predict whether teams will score more than or less than the total listed.
If the Raptors and the Celtics are expected to have a shootout, a sportsbook might offer a total over/under of 215.5 points for the game. Over win the bets if Toronto and Boston score 216 points or more, while under wins if the teams score 215 or less.
NBA Playoffs Futures and Props
Sportsbook betting odds provide NBA playoffs futures throughout the season, updating the odds as teams rise and fall. Bettors predict the team which will win the NBA Finals, or their respective conferences.
Prop bets during the playoffs include a wide variety of specific lines which deal with the game within the game. One type of prop bet might involve Kawhi Leonard scoring 25 points or more during a single game, while a team prop bet might wager on whether a team will win the first half of a games.
