  • Duke Blue Devils (West Region champion)
  • North Carolina Tar Heels (East Region champion)

March Madness Final Four Outright Winner Betting

The betting favourite to win the title is the Duke Blue Devils. Sports Interaction makes the Blue Devils their 2.46 favorites, with the Kansas Jayhawks next at 2.87.

Number 8 seeds, North Carolina Tar Heels, and the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats are both the outsiders in the betting odds. Both are available at odds of 5.76 to win the title.

For my pick to win the Final Four and take the title, I’m going for the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks were the team to beat in 2020 when the competition was scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If there is any justice in the sporting world, Kansas will get the job completed this year.

2022 NCAA Final Four Betting Picks

With both Duke and Kansas favoured to win the competition, it’s no surprise to see they are both heavy favourites to win their respective semi-finals. So let’s take a look at the matches in more detail.

Kansas v Villanova

The opening match of the weekend’s madness sees the Midwest and South Regions’ champions face off.

The Wildcats have already been dealt a huge blow with the loss of Justin Moore, who tore an Achilles against Houston in the final minute of last Saturday’s Elite Eight match.

Villanova was always going to be the underdogs going into this match, but that injury has just made their task a whole lot harder.

  • Where; Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, USA
  • When; Saturday, April 2nd, 2022
  • Time; 6.09 pm ET

In the betting, the Wildcats have a 4 and a half points start on the handicap point spread, and judging by the way the Jayhawks came back to beat the Miami Hurricanes in the Elite Eight match last weekend, they are going to need them.

Trailing 35-29 at the halfway point, the Jayhawks simply demolished Miami 47-15 in the second play, to eventually run out 76-50 winners.

Ochai Agbaji, David McCormack, and Christian Braun were the chief architects of the win, and the performance prompted Jayhawks head coach Bill Self to claim the performance was about “as well as we can play.”

On the Moneyline, the Jayhawks are 1.52, with the Wildcats at 2.59. The over/under points spread has been set at 133.

I think the Moneyline offers good value in this match, and my pick to win is the Kansas Jayhawks

Blue Devils v North Carolina

These two sides met in an absolute cracker just under a month ago, with the Tar Heels coming out on top thanks to a strong second-half performance.

Given that North Carolina won the game by 94 points to 81, it’s a surprise to see the Blue Devils starting from -4 points on the handicap spread.

North Carolina took the second half of these two’s previous match-up by a massive 15 points. That’s some margin! But for some reason, the NCAA Basketball Odds compilers are favouring the Blue Devils.

  • When; Saturday, April 2nd, 2022
  • Time; 8.49 pm ET

On the Moneyline, Duke Blue Devils are 1.55 with Sports Interaction. The same sportsbook makes North Carolina 2.53 to pull off another victory over their old foe!

On the total points spread, the figure set is 151. That’s well below the 175 points scored when the two sides met at the Cameron Indoor Stadium just a few weeks back.

It’s also a full 18 points more than the spread set on the first of the Final Four matches on Saturday, suggesting this could be the match of the night.

I’m going for two bets in this match. First up, I don’t think the result in early March will have been forgotten by Mike Krzyzewski’s side. Therefore my first pick on this match is for North Carolina to win on the Moneyline.

Secondly, in the Duke Blue Devils’ last four matches, they have scored a minimum of 78 points. While in the Tar Heels’ last four matches, they have scored 69, 73, 93, and 95 points respectively.

I’m just of the opinion that – regardless of their last match – these two teams are going to go for it hammer and tongs on Saturday night, and therefore my second pick on this match is for the spread of 151 points to be beaten.
