That’s a huge matchup to highlight what should be a monster even. In this article, we have picks for Ngannou vs. Gane at UFC 270 and so much more. Fans aren’t going to want to miss this one.
Ngannou vs. Gane could prove to be the fight of the year
• What: UFC 270 • When: Saturday, Jan. 22 • Who: Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane • Where: Anaheim, Calif.
It goes without saying, but Ngannou vs. Gane could prove to be the fight of the year for sure. This is a fight folks have had circled on their calendars for a while now, as these two heavyweights are both ready to do whatever is needed to try and leave the arena on Jan. 22 with the title around their wastes. Who will get the job done?
What makes things even more exciting as these two fighters hold the exact same UFC betting odds heading into this one, as the two heavyweights have been placed at 1.93 for their matchup. This only adds to the drama in this one. Half of UFC supporters out there think that Ngannou will be able to take down Gane, while on the other side of things, many think that Gane will cruise to a victory. Gane has loads of respect for his opponent.
“He is not particularly technique-oriented,” Gane said in a recent interview. “And we could see it in the sparring because when I was going technical, I could see I was ahead. And as soon as he used his power, it was kind of ruining the flow. I very clearly felt his punching power. As I said, I’ve never seen anyone as powerful as him. Today, whether it is in boxing or MMA, I don’t see anyone more powerful.”
While both of these guys are going to be battling it out for the belt, there’s also a tremendous amount of respect between the two. Often times you see a lot of trash talk back and forth, but these two stars are taking the high road. This will surely be a battle to remember. At the end of the day, we’re going with Gane to win. Brandon Moreno should cruise to a win at UFC 270
Elsewhere, Brandon Moreno should cruise to a win at UFC 270 in his matchup with Deiveson Figueiredo in a flyweight title meeting. Moreno has really been on top of his game of late, which has been awesome to see. He’s got quickness and power that’s going to make things incredibly difficult for Figueiredo when they put on the gloves.
The last time we saw Moreno in action, it was at UFC 263 last summer. His opponent? Yup, it was Figueiredo with the flyweight title on the line. Now, these two are ready to meet in a rematch, with Figueiredo hoping to bounce back and get some revenge on Moreno. In that summer brawl, Moreno was able to record a win via third-round submission.
“I think that is the goal for me right now for this fight and making a statement,” Moreno told MMA Junkie during an interview leading up to his upcoming brawl. “Like, ‘Hey guys, Brandon Moreno is real. Brandon Moreno wants to take this division out completely.’ I’m excited about all the challenges because I’m ready.”
These two were originally supposed to meet again at UFC 269, but things were pushed back. While this was disappointing for the two, they’re now ready to light up the stage at UFC 270. Moreno holds 1.59 UFC betting odds, while Figueiredo has been placed at 2.50. This should be a fun matchup as well, but we’re going to have to go with Moreno as our pick.
Greg Hardy is ready to come out on top as well
In another fun showdown, Greg Hardy is ready to come out on top as well once UFC 270 rolls around. Hardy is of course known for his controversial days in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, but he’s now a prized fighter known for delivering epic shots. He’ll be ready to meet Aleksei Oleinik in what should be a head-turning heavyweight meeting.
Hardy is the favourite for this matchup, with him currently holding 1.61 odds. As for Oleinik, he’s a bit of an underdog going up against Hardy, with him being placed with his 2.45 odds. Oleinik has his back against the wall in this one, and Hardy will be ready to make things tough. We’re 100 percent going with Hardy as our pick to win.
