The current UFC odds are now available for the UFC 249 event. The main card event at UFC 248 was won by Israel Adesanya, with the result going to the judge’s decision and Yoel Romero being deemed not to have done enough.

Israel Adesanya will risk it all, as he puts his title on the line against the “Soldier of God”. The 42-year old Cuban destroyer is known for his agility and power inside the octagon and will pose a new challenge to champion.

Israel Adesanya (1.36) vs Yoel Romero (3.10)
Israel, the self-proclaimed top pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC, is making his way through the middleweight contenders. He will face off against an MMA veteran in this one and someone who possesses knockout power and excellent wrestling technique.
Adesanya comes into this one with an MMA record of 18-0-0 and is in the prime of his career at 30-years old. He’s defeated Derek Brunson, Anderson Silva, Kelvin Gastelum, and Robert Whittaker on his way to the top.
The young Nigerian will know that Yoel is a different beast to what he’s fought before. However, he is the superior striker and all-round fighter. He must just avoid getting caught in a scrap, as Yoel has one of the best physiques in the UFC and Israel won’t want to test his knockout power.
Yoel has been fighting since he was a young teenager and it’s all he knows. His record over the past couple of years hasn’t exactly been plane sailing, losing 3 of his last 5 fights. Romero’s last fight he lost via decision to Paulo Costa.
Yoel will be keen to snatch that Middleweight belt off the Stylebender. But it’s worth nothing Adesanya wanted this fight, and for someone to call out a monster like Romero takes some confidence.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk (2.50) vs Zhang Weili (1.53)
Zhang Weili will step into the octagon looking to defend her strawweight title against the former division champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Weili shocked the MMA world when she knocked out Jessica Andrade in 42 seconds of the first round to claim the title in her last fight.
Zhang joined the UFC back in 2018, having fought in Kunlun and the CKF, and has since won every fight. With 17 stoppages in 20 fights, Weili is very dangerous and acutely aware of how to end a fight early.
Joanna is quite different. She is happy for the fight to go the distance, with the fourth and fifth rounds often proving to be fruitful in the past. Though this fight represents a fight between the young blood and the old guard.
We feel the fight will go in favour of the 30-year old from China. Not because she’s necessarily the better fighter outright, but because they are at two very different points of their career and we feel this will have a great effect on the outcome of this one.
Expect Zhang Weili to win.
