Philadelphia Flyers Odds

Philly flew their way back to the playoffs last year. But this year, it’s going to be much harder to get back. Even if they improve their quality of play, they could still easily slip outside the playoff picture. As a whole, the franchise has won 2 Stanley Cups, but those teams (1973–74, 1974–75) seem like a long time ago. But, the franchise actually has the second-best all-time points percentage of 57.7% in the NHL (as of the 2015–16 NHL season), behind only the Montreal Canadiens’ 58.9%. They’ve seen a number of great players over the years. [+]

This includes Lou Angotti, Ed Van Impe, Bobby Clarke, Mel Bridgman, Bill Barber, Bobby Clarke, Dave Poulin, Ron Sutter, Rick Tocchet, Kevin Dineen, Eric Lindros, Eric Desjardins, Keith Primeau, Derian Hatcher, Peter Forsberg, Jason Smith, Mike Richards, Chris Pronger and Claude Giroux.

Bet On Philadelphia Flyers Games

The Flyers typically have a very competitive team (less so, lately), so they’re almost always a good-to-great team to place your bet on.

But this team has not been able to win a championship since the 70s. And early 70s, at that. They have had false hopes a few times over the years. Most notably, during the Eric Lindross era/ experiment of the 90s. Lindross was hailed as the player of the future, and one worth giving the keys to your kingdom. But as we all remember, Lindross struggled with constant injuries and concussions (Eric may not remember, actually) during his time in Philly, and the team never got further than getting swept in the finals by the Detroit Red Wings.

This team still needs to add more depth and reliable scoring before they can be expected to move forward. They’re good now, and were good enough to place 5th in east last year, but not good enough to get out of the first round. Next year, they’re going to have to improve to keep from slipping.
