Despite playing one of the shortest weeks in NFL history (from Sunday night to Thursday at 12:30 PM), and without their starting quarterback, the Chicago Bears beat the Detroit Lions on the road, extending their winning streak to five games.
There is uncertainty around the health of Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky. He did not play in Week 12 against the Lions. However, backup Chase Daniels did enough, and the Chicago Bears defence took charge to win the game.
New York Giants
Just after the New York Giants looked to show some signs of life this season, a highly questionable second half against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12 has Giants fans again screaming in pillows and scratching their heads.
The Giants completely abandoned rookie running back Saquon Barkley after the star rumbled for two scores in the first half. Who knows if they are trying to save Barkley for the future? If that is the case, the Giants offence is arguably the worst in the NFL.
Despite the New York Giants and Chicago Bears playing in the NFC, the two franchises have played only eight times since November 1995. The two teams lasted played in 2016, with the New York Giants (-7.0) winning at home but failing to cover. Of course, the Giants were 11-5 that season with a stellar defence while the Bears went 3-13. This year is the teams have switched roles, with the Bears heading for the playoffs with an elite defence while the Giants are headed for a last-place finish in the NFC East.
