Toronto Raptors – Finding consistency from Siakim and Ibaka

With Kyle Lowry struggling to find his shot the last few weeks and the Toronto Raptors playing it caution with Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors need a consistent third scoring option. This year the Raptors are lucky enough to have not one, but two players able to contribute on offence almost every night.

In Siakim’s third NBA season, the lanky power forward has developed into an excellent NBA player. Siakim ranks 14th in the NBA in field goal percentage and ninth in effective field goal percentage. He can make shots from anywhere on the count and has become a more active rebounder in the absence of Jonas Valanciunas. Of course, he is not the only one who deserves credit. Serge Ibaka is having a career year, averaging 16.2 points per game and hitting just under 60% of his two-point shots. He has scored 20 or more points 11 times this season, three more than he totalled all of last season.

Indiana Pacers – Likely buyers at the Trade Deadline

The Indiana Pacers enter their game against the Toronto Raptors with the third best record in the Eastern Conference. Their defence and the play of Victor Oladipo have been the main catalysts to their success this season. While those two reasons have the Pacers well-positioned for home court in the first round of the NBA playoffs, for the Pacers to have a real chance at winning the Eastern Conference, they need more production from their point guard.

The Pacers have some players they could flip for an upgrade at point guard. If they do, their NBA futures at winning the Eastern Conference will move closer, possibly to third behind Toronto and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Pacers vs. Raptors Game Prediction

While you can never be sure what Raptors will play on the second half of a back-to-back, their 8-1 mark this season suggests it does not matter if the Raptors rest players. In fact, one of those eight wins came against the Pacers just over two weeks ago. The Raptors pulled out a 16-point victory in that game, without Kawhi Leonard.

The Pacers do not match up well against the Raptors. They can force Victor Oladipo into difficult shots and switch up their players well enough to keep the Pacers defence off balance. While the line on this game could shift if Leonard and Lowry are both sidelined, NBA odds when taking the Raptors on the moneyline on a back-to-back is offering great value this season.
