The Toronto Raptors played their worst game of the season on Monday, losing by 16 points at home to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans exposed some paint defence problem that could plague the Raptors when they play teams with elite big men. Still, one loss after busy stretch against a perennial MVP candidate is no reason to worry.
Despite the talent on the Boston Celtics, the team has been very sluggish to start the season. At 7-6 through their first 13 games, the Celtics need to go 53-16 over the rest of the season to go over their preseason win totals.
The Celtics and Raptors are currently co-favourites to win the Eastern Conference. While the Celtics (once they get going and figure out the best lineups to play) probably have more talent than the Toronto Raptors overall, the Raptors have gone 9-4 against their Atlantic Division rivals since the 2015-16 season.
