With three World Series championships since the 2010 season, the San Francisco Giants have established themselves as the team to watch each year in the NL West. Led by ace Madison Bumgarner, the Giants always make sure they’ve got a chance at the playoffs each year. If, and when they do get to play postseason baseball, the Giants have been able to make the most of it with those three championships.
Yet, entering the 2016 MLB season, it’s actually the LA Dodgers who have won this division three years in a row. The Dodgers are always a popular MLB NL West betting lines option because of those winning years and the stars they’ve got on their roster, but unless this team wins a championship soon, it’s only a matter of time before the whole roster is blown up.

Bet On MLB NL West Games
The other three teams yet to be mentioned in the NL West are the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, and San Diego Padres. Arizona had one year of success in 2011 when they won the division but lost in the NLDS and have been trying to get back there ever since. They recently went out and paid big money for P Zack Greinke to build their rotation around, and it will be interesting to see how that works out for the Diamondbacks the next few seasons.
Colorado is a team that can be tricky for many bettors because of the HR ballpark they play in with the thin air. The ball absolutely flies around Coors Field and bettors will see plenty of 11 and 11.5 totals with the NL West betting lines for Colorado home games. Their own pitchers aren’t immune to that either, and that makes it really tough to count on the Rockies to win on a daily basis.
The Padres are a team currently with their own issues to work through as they’ve got a pitcher-friendly park and will only start to find consistent success when they beef up their rotation. Until that happens there will likely be more losses than wins for Padres fans.
But this division is all about the heavy spending Dodgers, and the fundamentally sound Giants. Dodgers/Giants has been the best rivalry in baseball of late and it shows no signs of slowing up. As a bettor looking to concentrate on NL West betting lines, these are the two teams you’ve really got to study and research because they’ll be able to bring plenty of winning bets to your bankroll.
