MLS Week 31 Predictions
The high scoring continued in week 30 of the MLS regular season, including six games with more than a trio. With the exception of the Portland Timbers, who jumped ahead of Sporting KC for fifth spot in the west, none of the squads seized the moment to greatly improve their position in the standings. Teams now only have a handful of games left in the MLS regular season, as the margin of error slowly narrows towards nil.
MLS Odds Week 31
In week 31, the game with the most significant playoff implications will be D.C. hosting Orlando City. A win vaults either or these teams into playoff position while eliminating the other, for all intensive purposes. A tie gives New England breathing room, making it much more difficult for D.C. or Orlando to hurdle the Revolution. Toronto witnessed the return of Giovinco, who can tighten the Reds’ grip on a playoff spot by routing the Union.
Week 31 MLS Predictions
For this portion of the schedule, the MLS picks of the week focus on matchups which seem to be unusually lopsided. One of the best values this week appears to be D.C. United, who are fighting for a playoff spot against a fading competitor.
Seattle Sounders vs. L.A. Galaxy Prediction
BET L.A. @ -115 at Sports Interaction Sportsbook. With an outside shot to catch and surpass FC Dallas for the supporter’s shield, Los Angeles will seek an improved performance from the previous week, when Landon Donovan had to come out of retirement to save them from losing to Kansas. Seattle won the Cascadia cup against the Whitecaps, but appear out of contention for the playoffs. Motivated to win and playing at home, expect the Galaxy to summarily dismiss the Sounders.
Portland Timbers vs. Houston Dynamo Prediction
BET Portland @ +250 at Bet365 Sportsbook. The Timbers are showing signs of repeating their performance from their MLS Cup winning season, when they applied the afterburners towards the end of the campaign, ramping up to full competitive strength in the playoffs. Sure, the Dynamo embarrassed Real Salt Lake last week by winning 1-0, but the Timbers are an entirely different beast. Expect Portland to perform well on the road as the Dynamo continue to prepare for the 2017 campaign.
Philadelphia Union vs. Toronto FC Prediction
BET Toronto @ -133 at William Hill Sportsbook. Toronto FC has been doing fine without Sebastian Giovinco, and they thank you for asking. Without the MVP, they’ve held off challenges for top spot in the eastern conference, as Jozy Altidore has accepted the burden for creating much of the offensive spark. Now that he’s scheduled to return, Toronto looks to cement top spot in the conference for the first time in their history. On the other side of the equation are the Union, who have gone out of their way to avoid winning for close to a month. The Reds might run away with this one.
Orlando City vs. D.C. United Prediction
BET D.C. @ -110 at Bet 365 Sportsbook. D.C. United has been scratching its way to the finish line, picking up points here and there to avoid falling far behind contention. As the end nears, D.C. finds themselves in control of their destiny, only two points out of the last spot with a game in hand. Turns out Orlando City is in the exact same position! This should be one of the most hotly contested games of the week, except for the fact that Orlando has been truly awful, giving up four goals to the second worse team in the MLS instead of earning a trio of points to grab hold of the last playoff spot.

The European Super League (ESL) was supposed to be the breakaway club for top European football clubs, the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Liverpool to name a few.
The full list of Super League clubs:
- English - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham.
- Spanish - Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid.
- Italian - AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus.
However, plans broke down the very next day after the featured clubs made the announcement, led by Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez. Perez has been defiant in the face of big clubs like Juventus and Manchester City dropping out, with the governing body FIFA also threatening to ban teams from their domestic leagues.
The anger and frustration at the decision to go ahead with a Super League boiled over when fans of Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham held mass protests outside the relative stadiums. The announcement caused a wave of protest across Europe, as UEFA made it clear that all clubs involved would face repercussions if they were to go ahead and compete in the breakaway Super League.
But, what upset the fans so much and is the Super League really so different from the Champions League?
