With the injury of Sebastian Giovinco, the eastern conference of the MLS looks to take advantage of Toronto FC’s misfortune. This could interrupt the Reds’ historically solid season if they’re unable to adjust over the next month. As a result, the two New York teams look to bite into Toronto’s slim lead this week. New York City FC will meet DC United on the pitch, while the New York Red Bulls have a much easier assignment against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
MLS Odds Week 28
The final weeks of the MLS regular season often defines the success of a franchise, with the exception of bottom feeders such as the Chicago Fire, the Columbus Crew SC and the Houston Dynamo. All other squads jockey for the top position in their conference or fight for a coveted playoff spot. The two contests likely to be close involve NYC FC vs. DC United and FC Dallas vs. Portland Timbers. As Portland and DC fight to stay in the playoffs, New York and Dallas aim to maintain their pace atop the conference standings.
Week 28 MLS Predictions
This week features a couple of big matchups between conference leaders and playoff aspirants. The rest of the matchups have the potential to be blowouts, which could be profitable for solid over/under opportunities.
BET New York @ +180 AT BODOG SPORTBOOK. So far, the Vancouver Whitecaps season is as sleepy as the city which hosts the team. On the opposite end of the coin, the New York Red Bulls have shown wings, although they’ll be with Sacha Kljestan for the west coast trip. Look for the Red Bulls to overcome the traditional disadvantages of a west coast trip as they strive to catch up to the Reds’ lead in the conference.
BET New York @ -145 AT WILLIAM HILL SPORTBOOK. D.C. United are struggling to keep hold of a playoff spot, which will become more difficult now that New York City FC’s making the trip to the capital. Despite the fact that New York is the visiting team, they should be heavily favoured to win. One of the key players will be the talented international star David Villa. As of late, he’s been particularly productive, and often roasts the United defence when given the chance.
BET Dallas @ -143 AT WILLIAM HILL SPORTBOOK. The big game on the west coast will be FC Dallas taking on the Portland Timbers, who cling precariously to a playoff spot. Portland has been treading water of late, and will need to come up with one of their best performances of the year to earn their first road win against the leaders for the Supporters’ Shield. Frankly, if Portland manages a draw, they should be proud.
BET Los Angeles @ - 123 AT BETONLINE SPORTSBOOK. One of the least inspiring teams over the last month or so have been the Galaxy, who are a few bad performances away from becoming irrelevant. They meet the Columbus Crew, who are attempting to salvage a horrible first half. While they have earned point in three of their last five games, the Crew will have to raise their game further to jog out of Los Angeles with points.
BET Colorado @ +290 AT SPORTS INTERACTION. Perhaps the most lopsided match this week will be the New England Revolution against the Colorado Rapids. Home advantage counts for very little when the team has lost eight of their last twelve and four of their last five. The Rapids want to keep up with Dallas, so Colorado should be motivated to take control of the pitch quickly against New England.

The anger and frustration at the decision to go ahead with a Super League boiled over when fans of Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham held mass protests outside the relative stadiums. The announcement caused a wave of protest across Europe, as UEFA made it clear that all clubs involved would face repercussions if they were to go ahead and compete in the breakaway Super League.
But, what upset the fans so much and is the Super League really so different from the Champions League?
