NEW YORK RED BULLS vs TORONTO FC
Toronto FC’s season is still alive although they continue to sit just outside the playoff positions. They will need to beat teams above them to stay in contention, and NY Red Bulls is one such team.
Interestingly, these sides faced off just over two weeks ago – Toronto FC were victorious on that occasion at BMO. The Reds have a decent record in New Jersey, so despite their high odds here we’re backing them to make it another win against their Eastern Conference rivals. Go for Toronto FC (4.13).
COLORADO RAPIDS vs MONTREAL IMPACT
Montreal charged back into form with a 4-0 win over Philadelphia last time out, a result that was unexpected and against the odds – they had just 35% of the possession in the match.
This should be another win for the Impact despite being on the road where they have had their issues this season. Colorado have been lacklustre and sit bottom of the Western Conference, and failed to win any of their July matches.
Go for Montreal here at great odds (2.97).
FC CINCINNATI vs VANCOUVER WHITECAPS
The Whitecaps haven’t won a match in the MLS since May 26th, as streak that is now nine matches. Although they managed to keep Minnesota United scoreless in their last match, there just doesn’t seem to be any sign of improvement in this Vancouver team.
Meanwhile FC Cincinnati are one of just two teams in the entire MLS that are below Vancouver in the standings. They’ve had a tough initiation, although this is a game that they could potentially get something out of.
Something has to give when two bottom sides face off – we’re picking the Whitecaps to finally break their winless run. Go for Vancouver (4.00).
NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION vs LA FC
This is a match that could have a huge impact on the chances of the Canadian teams in this year’s playoff race. New England sit seventh in the East, level with Montreal and one point ahead of Toronto FC, although they face the white-hot LAFC who are light years ahead of the competition.
It is a home game for New England, and LA are so far ahead that they can afford to drop points, although we think that they will be good enough for a draw here. That is our prediction, and the odds available are huge (4.52).
