The MLS action continues this weekend with all three Canadian teams involved in crucial fixtures. First up will be Toronto FC who travel to LA to play the Galaxy on Friday night, then on Sunday you’ll see Montreal Impact host Minnesota United and the Vancouver Whitecaps’ road trip to face LAFC.
Here are our top picks from this weeks MLS games.
MLS Games - Week 17 - July 5-7
- 1LA GALAXY vs TORONTO FC
- 2FC DALLAS vs DC UNITED
- 3MONTREAL IMPACT vs MINNESOTA UNITED
- 4LAFC vs VANCOUVER WHITECAPS
LA GALAXY vs TORONTO FC
Toronto FC’s recent last-minute win over Atlanta United was quite remarkable, yet in true 2019 fashion they were unable to string two wins together, falling on their sword in the dying seconds to snatch a point from the jaws of victory against Wayne Rooney’s DC United.
They’re in for another tough fixture against LA Galaxy, who are second in the Western conference, although they have lost their last three home fixtures in the MLS. The home side are clear favourites (1.68), but we like the draw here at great odds (4.30).
FC DALLAS vs DC UNITED
FC Dallas stumbled against Portland last week in what was one of the upsets of the round. They won’t make the same mistake twice, even if DC United bring their best to Texas, although they should be wary of Wayne Rooney - he has scored in four consecutive matches in all competitions.
This one is too close to call head to head, so we’re jumping on both teams to score (1.71).
MONTREAL IMPACT vs MINNESOTA UNITED
Despite having 37% of posession last week, Minnesota United put seven goals past FC Cincinnati and will travel north full of confidence. Montreal slipped up against Atlanta United on the road, although have won their last three at home by the same scoreline (2-1).
This is close, although both teams are very likely to hit the back of the net. Go for both teams to score.
LAFC vs VANCOUVER WHITECAPS
Western conference leaders LAFC are in great form and have not lost a match since April 18th. Their opponents on that occasion?
Vancouver Whitecaps. While the ‘Caps find themselves near the bottom of the table, they have had success previously against this team and there’s every chance they can do it again. Vancouver have drawn five of their last seven matches – jump on the draw here at great odds.
