FIFA World Cup Final Odds: 3 Props Worth Betting

2018 FIFA World Cup Final Best Props To Bet

My Team's Next MatchFrance

All eyes will be with the FIFA World Cup Final this Sunday, which promises not only topnotch football on display but plenty of betting action from behind the scenes. Betting on the outcome is only one way bettors get in. Many take advantage of the hundreds of prop bets, short for "propositions" offered by sportsbooks.

These props are difficult to profit from because they can be random but like football itself, it's all about making the right decisions and picking the right props to bet.

The key is to avoid all the completely arbitrary prop bets or the specific ones and to find either/or selections. Below, we dive into three such props that are worth putting a bit of money on with odds courtesy of SportsInteraction.

Anytime Goalscorer

Croatia Goalscorer Odds

  • Mario Mandzukic +325
  • Ivan Perisic +369
  • Andrej Kramaric +377
  • Ante Rebic +545
  • Luka Modric +455
  • Marko Pjaca +530

  • Dejan Lovren +1600
  • Ivan Strinic +2300
  • Sime Vrsaljko +2300
  • Josip Pivaric +2300

Someone is going to score in this Final. This is almost certain. Both France and Croatia are prolific and while they are also tactical and prone to "playing safe", the amount of talent on both squads will yield at least a goal or two.

If there will be scoring, it's more than likely going to be from the French team and there are a slew of capable scorers from Antoine Griezemann (+165) to Olivier Giroud (+216) to Paul Pogba (+454). Giroud and Pogba have yet to score despite their offensive skills.

But the man to watch is Kylian Mbappe (+199). The 19-year-old talisman is a lock to win the Best Young Player award and also has a decent shot at the Golden Ball. Fleet-footed and crafty, few players can match his speed and agility, especially in open space.

On the counter or if and when Croatia lapses on defence, expect Mbappe to be leading the charge in assailing the net. He will be heavily involved in whichever goals France score and at 2-1 odds for him to score, it's a doable prop.

Which Teams Will Score?

  • None +543
  • France only +152
  • Croatia only +561
  • Both Teams +135

Through 12 combined games, both teams have combined for 22 goals. Croatia has scored in each game and the only game France didn't score was a 0-0 tie in a group game they didn't have to try. Although in their previous two games, France blanked two offensively-talented squads in Belgium and Uruguay.

There is a solid chance France makes it three-in-a-row and shuts Croatia out. It's a tall feat but Hugo Lloris has been stellar in goal. France managed to shut out Belgium despite Belgium holding on to the ball longer. Croatia has won the possession battle in all but one game (versus Argentina) during the tournament.

The midfield combo of Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic has been dynamic. Modric is a contender for the Golden Ball and the odds favour Croatia winning the possession battle again. Although up front, they are not as good as Belgium and Uruguay and both couldn't manufacture a goal.

Croatia will have their moments but with how solid France is on both set pieces and the transition, it's hard to see how Croatia breaks through them outside of an own goal. Bank on France to yield another shutout. Alternatively, odds for both teams scoring is +135 if you need to hedge.

Which Team Gets More Corners

Which Team Gets More Corners

  • France-149

  • Draw+673

  • Croatia+162

Team With Most Corners Handicap

  • France -1.5 +109

  • Croatia +1.5 -149

  • France -0.5 -145

  • Croatia +0.5 +105

  • France +0.5 -233

  • Croatia -0.5 +164

A corner kick is awarded to the attacking team when the defending team touches the football last when it goes out of bounds. This is usually a good scoring opportunity for the offence. Through six World Cup games, Croatia has been awarded more corners four times. On the other hand, France surrendered more corners in four of six matches.

Croatia is a ball-dominant team thanks to their superstar midfield. While France is also talented in this department, they may lose key battles when they find themselves being contained in their own zone. This could result in a few corners when Croatia goes on the attack.

Plus-money for Croatia to receive more corners is a solid deal. Alternatively, the most corners handicap is a lower risk bet. Croatia at +1.5 is -149 and at +0.5 is +105.

CPL Picks: Spring Champs Cavalry FC Keep Rolling
The top two teams from the Canadian Premier Soccer League's Spring Season got off to mixed results as the Fall Schedule kicked off last weekend. The spring champions Cavalry FC picked up where they left off.

They outscored Pacific FC 3-2, avenging a 3-1 loss suffered in the spring season finale. But things didn't go as swimmingly for spring runners up Forge FC. They were toppled 2-1 by Edmonton FC.
