Soccer Picks Today: English Premier League Week 8

Soccer Picks Today: English Premier League Week 8

Liverpool vs Manchester United

After the culmination of the World Cup qualification, one would think most of these players need a break from the emotional roller coaster that they have been on. But instead, they have to get right back to work and play in some huge domestic games all across Europe this weekend.

This Saturday October 14th at 7:30am EST Manchester United, who are tied atop the Premier League table with Manchester City, enter hostile territory.

My Team's Next MatchLiverpool

Now as a spectator this game will always carry intrigue but as a gambler, it will inform many decisions about how we approach these teams going forward.

The biggest question we need an answer to is WILL JOSE MOURINHO KILL THE GAME? Or is he willing to be different and go to Anfield and try to play an attacking style?

History says probably not.

I am wagering that on a short week and missing 2 central midfielders in Pogba and Fellaini, that the Special One will rely on what he knows best - shutting up shop away at a big side and securing the point. He may potentially get a little creative and play another defender in central midfield next to Ander Herrera who could spend the 90 minutes shadowing Philippe Coutinho.

The Draw at +230 is very much in play as well.

Pick: UNDER 2.5 GOALS (-112) at BET365

Burnley vs. West Ham

In 3 Premier League home games this season the Rams have scored a total of 1 goal.

In 4 Premier League away games this season the Hammers have scored a total of 2 goals.

Yet somehow as West Ham sit 15th in the table and Slavan Bilic perpetually looks like he is about to get fired, Sean Dyche aka Ginger Mourinho has his Burnley side, who sold their two best players on the stroke of the season, in 6th place.

Burnley have taken a few impressive scalps this season away from Turf Moor. I feel that they can get the Hammers at home this weekend.

Pick: Burnley (+162) at BET365

2 team parlay: Juventus + Borussia Dortmund

(+138 ) on William Hill: Not going to over complicate things here. Until Juventus starts losing games at home I am going to back them happily. They are the strongest holding in my gambling portfolio and will be treated as such.

Coming off an international break, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain basically got 2 weeks vacation as they didn't play a single minute for the Albicelsete and got to watch Lionel Messi singlehandedly qualify Argentina for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. So the 2 most potent scorers for the Old Lady will be fresh and ready to rock.

And the same goes for the team sitting atop the table in German, Bayern Munich Borussia Dortmund. BvB who have only lost to Tottenham and Real Madrid in the Champions League this season, have carved their domestic competitors to shreds. At home, they are undefeated and have outscored their opponents 13-1 on aggregate. Until they fall off form I intend to bet them and so should you.
