Chelsea Manchester City Premier League Picks Week 31
Chelsea Manchester City Preview
Chelsea's lead in the race for the title is down to 7 points. Their magic number over Tottenham is 21 and while there is no reason for them to sound any alarm bells it is worth noting that Spurs' upcoming schedule is very easy and, on paper at least, they should not drop any points in the near future. Which means that Manchester City's visit will be a chance for Chelsea to restate their intent.
They responded to their last loss at White Hart Lane in January by going 13 games undefeated. Great teams and great managers rarely lose consecutive games and if you believe this Chelsea squad is on the verge of being great with Antonio Conte, you can be sure that they will have a good performance on Wednesday.
CHELSEA DRAW NO BET (-138)
Taking the Draw out of play with the wager is the best option in my estimation. While City are dynamic on the front foot, Chelsea have had lots of practice playing without the ball and closing down the channels opposing teams want to play through. If they can create even half the chances they did against Palace last weekend, they will score enough to put the game out of reach.
Premier League Picks Week 31
With every team playing again on Tuesday and Wednesday there are plenty of opportunities to profit on EPL week 31... Here are three more plays we've selected.
Southampton vs. Crystal Palace
Under 2.5 Goals (-130) on Bodog
Crystal Palace have only conceded 2 goals in their past 7 games. In 13 Premier League games at St. Mary's this season there have been a total of 28 goals scored (2.15 goals per game). Both the short term and long term trends suggest a low scoring affair.
Burnley vs. Stoke City
Burnley PK (-150) on Bodog
Are Stoke even required to play the rest of the season? Much like the logic applies to Chelsea at home, Burnley should be taken in this instance with the Draw taken out of play. That gives us the best chance at victory with a very good home team taking on a sub par road team. Turf Moor is a very specific environment, one that this Rams squad specializes at playing in.
Leicester vs. Sunderland / Arsenal vs. West Ham
Leicester + Arsenal ML Parlay (+117) on Bet365
Leicester hosting Sunderland and Arsenal hosting in-town rival West Ham both feel like comfortable home wins to me. Both West Ham and relegation destined Sunderland are 0-1-4 in their last 5 games and feel like they've packed it in for the season. Leicester are surging and paying all the bills while Arsenal's ability to come back from 1 goal deficits twice against Man City may just give them the lift that their fragile psyches needed.
