Bundesliga Title Odds: Bayern vs Dortmund
With just eight games left in the regular season of this amazing soccer competition it's come down to a two-horse race. Borussia Dortmund have been the benchmark in the Bundesliga for most of the season, but a slow starting Bayern Munich have now gained the ascendency following a strong run of results. Munich's run stretched to six consecutive league victories on matchday 26, and they have now scored 17 goals in their last three matches.
Goal difference may well prove to be crucial, and the Bundesliga table now shows that the defending champions are now seven goals ahead of Dortmund.
The BVB have faltered in recent weeks, winning only three of their last five and not looking overly convincing in the process. While they showed poise and determination to twice come from behind to beat Hertha Berlin away on matchday 26, the ease at which Bayern are picking up three points is bound to be a concern.
It's no surprise to see Bayern take a commanding lead in the Bundesliga title odds race. In fact, the leading sportsbooks have almost conceded that Munich will win their seventh consecutive championship, instilling them as -300 favourites for the title. Dortmund have blown out to around +200, although is there an opportunity for them to regain the advantage?
- Bayern Munich: SC Freiburg (A), Dortmund (H), Fortuna (A), Bremen (H), FC Nürnberg (A), Hannover 96 (H), RB Leipzig (A), Frankfurt (H)
- Borussia Dortmund: Wolfsburg (H), Bayern (A), FSV Mainz 05 (H), SC Freiburg (A), FC Shalke (H), Bremen (A), Fortuna (H), Mönchengladbach (A)
Neither team has a particularly good or bad run of fixtures to end the season, although the advantage is clearly with Bayern Munich, who will host Borussia Dortmund on matchday 28 (Saturday, April 6th) This will obviously be the deciding fixture in the title race, although if Dortmund can jag a draw or even an unlikely victory, it's certainly game on.
After the Dortmund game, Bayern face two mid-table opponents, before facing two teams that could possibly be relegated by that time, so it's a decent run. They do finish with two teams who will be fighting it out for a top-four position, although having their last fixture at home is a positive.
Dortmund's only top six opponents in their final eight fixtures (based on the current standings) are Bayern and Borussia Monchengladbach, and they beat both teams during their great run earlier in the season. It's certainly not out of the question that the BVB can win this thing.
Youth vs Experience?
There's no secret that Bayern Munich have a host of ageing stars, although their experience in winning titles will certainly come into play in the remaining weeks. Sure, Bayern have rarely been troubled in the title race in recent seasons, but given they are now out of the Champions League, they have little excuse not to push on and win the title with the calibre of players at their disposal. Bayern still dreams of a domestic double winner, since they are through to the quarter finals of the DFB Cup.
But Dortmund's young stars could yet prove to be the difference, and their fresh legs still may have the better of Munich in the chaotic final weeks. Dortmund were of course eliminated from the Champions League as well, and they also were knocked out of the DFB Cup in the last round, so they will definitely play at least one less game than their opponents.
In 2012, a young Robert Lewandowski starred in the BVB's championship glory. Could youth prevail again this season?
Dortmund have played fantastically throughout the campaign, but a title race is all about momentum and it's all with Bayern at this stage. Dortmund may be able to regain the ascendency with a positive result at the Allianz, but out Bundesliga betting prediction is Bayern Munich for the title. This pick is confirmed by the sportsbooks which have higher Bundesliga champions odds for Dortmund (+213). Stick with this betting football tip!

Matchday 27 Bundesliga 2018-19 Odds To Win
An in form Bayern Munich will come up against SC Freiburg on matchday 27, and while they are away from home there's no chance SCF will be able to stop their momentum.
While you won't see much value in that game, Borussia Dortmund's fixture against Wolfsburg should see a victory for the home team and provide a decent return (-200).
Don't be put off by Wolfsburg's 5-2 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf in their last outing - they also were smashed 6-0 by Bayern the week before. However, this shows that the away side can score goals, and Dortmund's defence hasn't been perfect recently - go for both teams to score here, which pays -161.
Speaking of Fortuna, they host Borussia Mönchengladbach in what we are predicting to be a loss for the home side. The away side here are firmly locked into a fight for their top-four position, and despite only picking up one win in their last six fixtures, we're confident this is a value pick for matchday 27.
Elsewhere, Frankfurt should be too good at home for VfB Stuttgart and increase their winning streak to five, and likewise Bremen should pick up their third consecutive victory against Mainz.
The match of the day is arguably Hoffenheim against Bayer Leverkusen. Just four points separate these two and there are Europa League places on the line here. Leverkusen did lose last time out, although have won seven of their last ten and are one of the form teams of the competition. They could be a good outsider bet here.
The Bundesliga relegation odds market already has Nürnberg and Hannover as almost certainties to suffer the drop, and it's very hard to see either team come up with a win when they've been so few and far between this season. Schalke is a good value pick, while Augsburg is even better here.
Current Bundesliga Standings
This is the current situation of Germany's first division. Remember that the top four clubs qualify to next season's Champions League, while the fifth and the sixth advance to the Europa League. On the other hand, the three worst teams will be relegated to the Bundesliga 2.
