The Fine Print - Our Match Previews
Serie A - Bologna vs Sampdoria (9:00am EST)
The first match to kick off on Saturday is the clash between Bologna and Sampdoria, and this one is tough to pick. Sampdoria have been impressive this season; 26 points in their first twelve matches is a club record. They are perfect in 2017/18 at home, and have scored the most goals at their own stadium than any other team in the division, although they have not been as impressive on the road.
Bologna, by contrast, have been good on the road, recording four wins so far this season. Their home record is poor though - they have won just one of their six games and conceded at least one goal in each of these matches. While the draw is definitely tempting, we are going to go with the in-form Sampdoria here, and we think both teams will score.Sampdoria and both teams to score +400
Bundesliga - Dortmund vs Schalke 04 (9:30am EST)
Dortmund are having a torrid time of it. After a run of three straight losses and a disastrous winless streak in the UEFA Champions League, they find themselves out of Europe's elite competition and out of the top four in the Bundesliga. Their last victory in any competition was nearly two months ago - September 30th - and manager Peter Bosz is suddenly fending off calls for his job even though his side sat first in the league after winning six of their first seven matches.
Ironically, they next come up against a team who has leapfrogged them over the past month. Shalke 04 have not lost since September 23rd, putting together four wins from six matches since that time - only Bayern Munich have earned more points in the last six rounds. They have now managed two straight away matches without conceding a goal - they haven't managed this since 2009.
This is another tough pick - do you go with form or class? Borussia Dortmund have the better side and are normally lethal at home. In fact, prior to their recent run of two home defeats, they hadn't lost a home match in 41 attempts. Shalke's 2nd place position is their best in five years, and surely they can't keep this good run going for much longer.
Although there have been three draws between the sides in the last five matches (including both in the 2016/17 campaign), we are going to tip Dortmund to bounce back and record a much needed victory.Dortmund -138
Bundesliga - RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen (9:30am EST)
Leipzig have not started the season as strongly as they did in their first Bundesliga appearance, however they are still sitting pretty in third place and are undefeated at home so far.
Timo Werner has been impressive for the Roten Bullen, scoring seven in the league and averaging one goal every four shots. This tally is just one fewer than the entire Werder Bremen team, who average a goal every nineteen attempts.
It was even worse for Bremen prior to the last matchday - they finally recorded a win in the league with a 4-0 thumping of Hannover. Twelve games is the longest they have ever had to wait to record a win in the Bundesliga, and it may be a while before they get a second.
Despite the home side squandering the lead twice in their draw with Leverkusen last week, we are confident of a win for Leipzig here, and the odds are reasonably enticing.RB Leipzig -200
Bundesliga - Borussia Monchengladbach vs Bayern Munich (12:30pm EST)
It is not often that you find statistics that prove both teams in a matchup do poorly against each other, but it is the case here. Monchengladbach have suffered more Bundesliga defeats and conceded more goals against Bayern than against any other team, while Munich have lost more league matches at the home of their hosts than at any other location.
While the home side are in form, having lost only one of their last six matches and appearing in the top four for the first time this season, they still should be no match for Bayern Munich. The league leaders have scored 30 goals in their first twelve matches (the best record in the league), while Gladbach have conceded 21 - the third worst in the Bundesliga).Bayern Munich -225
Serie A - Cagliari vs Inter Milan (2:45pm EST)
The final match of the day is between mid-table Cagliari and undefeated Inter. The home side are on a bit of a roll having won their last two matches, while Milan have been incredible this season, winning ten of their opening thirteen matches (the last time they bettered this start was back in 1950).
Inter have shipped just four goals in their six away games this season, and should be favoured to keep a clean sheet on the road against a side that has scored just seven in their six home matches. By contrast, Inter have scored 15 from seven. Additionally, Inter have only failed to score once in their last thirty matches against the Sardinians. We see the away side getting the points here, and there is a good chance of a win to nil if you're brave.Inter to win and 'No' to both teams to score +187
Result/Both Teams To Score Market
Don't forget that you can add more weight to your potential outlay by selecting the Result/Both Teams To Score market, which is also valid to use under the Bet365.com bonus promotion. For this line, you are selecting both the outcome of the match AND whether you believe both teams will score in the match.
As you can see above, we have selected this line for both Serie A matches. In the Bologna vs Sampdoria match, we are confident that both teams will hit the back of the net, and also sure that Sampdoria will win. By selecting this combination bet, we more than double our odds - the away side are +162 head-to-head and are +375 to win and both teams to score.
For the Cagliari vs Inter match, we have decided that Inter will win and believe that they will also keep a clean sheet. This means we are betting that the 'both teams to score' will be false. Here, we increase our odds from -167 to +187 by choosing this option.
