Seahawks vs 49ers: 2014 NFC Championship Odds and Prediction

San Francisco 49ers: Playing more impressively every week

On a huge roll with eight straight wins, including playoff road wins in Green Bay and Carolina, the 49ers are in the NFC Championship game for a second straight year. We have watched all eight contets and the Niners have been impressive on both sides of the ball. San Francisco have outscored their opponents by a combined 205-124 count during their winning streak - including 23-20 and 23-10 playoff road wins over the Packers and Panthers. Though the 23 points San Fran has scored in their last three games is mildly impressive, the 49ers defense and offensive line play have really stood out. The biggest question mark is how the 49ers will fair in a fourth straight road game. Especially this contest at The Link - which gives the Seahawks the biggest home filed advantage in the NFL.

Seattle Seahawks: Need a better effort than the one vs. New Orleans

After consecutive wins over Atlanta, Minnesota and New Orleans during Weeks 10 thru 13 of the regular season, by a 108-37 count, Seattle looked like the most complete team in the NFL. In Week 14 the Seahawks soared into San Francisco and left with their second loss (19-17) of the season. That contest seemed to give the Hawks confidence level a hit as well. Though their first home loss in 15 games, 17-10 to Arizona in Week 16, seemed like a blip on the radar, we've lost a little confidence in our Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII Championship call. Seattle was far from impressive in their 23-15 Divisional playoff win over the Saints last weekend. While coming off a bye and being a little rusty may be part of the reason for their lethargic play - the Hawks need to be better on Sunday.
