Cleveland vs Golden State: Heavyweights Battle in an NBA Championship Rematch

Golden State Warriors: Champs move past Motor City meltdown

First overall in the NBA Western Conference, Golden State is sporting a 37-4 record, the Warriors own a slim 1.5 game lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the West. In a rare slump, by their elevated standards, Golden State has lost two of their last three games. The Warriors dropped a 112-110 decision in Denver last Wednesday, they were sluggish in the first half before beating the Lakers 116-98 at home on Friday and then got plastered 113-95 by the Pistons in Detroit on Saturday. The Motor City meltdown actually helps as Golden State will want to rebound in a big way here.

Cleveland Cavaliers: King James & Crew are starting to pull away in the East

Somewhat sluggish out of the starting gate, Cleveland opened the 2015-16 NBA season with a 13-7 record, the Cavaliers have rolled to a 15-3 record since December 8, 2015. Injuries were part of the problem during their slow start as stud point guard Kyrie Irving missed the Cavaliers first 24 games. Following their 4-2 NBA Championship Finals defeat last season, King James & Crew lost the first of two regular season meetings as they dropped 93-87 decision versus the Warriors on Christmas Day. The Cavs followed that loss in Oakland with a 105-76 pummeling in Portland but they have won nine of their last ten games – with most of the wins being in blowout fashion.
