Breeders Stakes 2019 Picks & Predictions
With the stage set for the rematch between Avie's Flatter and Tone Broke in the finale of the 2019 Canadian Triple Crown, horse racing bettors will be looking for the winning angle a Breeders' Stakes renewal that looks a bit top-heavy.
Can he do it? Yes he did! Tone Broke rallies to win the #BreedersStakes, the final leg of the OLG Canadian Triple Crown, with @hernandezrafii up for Steve Asmussen! #BetWoodbineTB pic.twitter.com/0QhHspIWu4

There's no magic in my Breeders' Stakes 2019 predictions.
I think Avie's Flatter and Tone Broke are the best two horses in this field regardless of surface.
Of course, the Breeders' Stakes happens to be run on turf, and that's why Avie's Flatter gets the nod over Tone Broke on the morning line despite losing to that rival by two lengths July 23 in the Prince of Wales on dirt.
Tone Broke will be tryiing the grass for the first time in his career, but he's certainly bred to handle the surface switch.
Trainer Steve Asmussen isn't known for his success with turf horses, but I think he's got the most talented runner with no disrespect to Avie's Flatter.

My thoughts on the other seven runners are pretty simple as well.
I think Encierro has license to move forward, but probably isn't ready to tackle the top two. He's a Macho Man can chug along for a share and Seguimi will probably set the pace in this event, making for an interesting possiblity in the lower rungs of the exotic bets.
So what do you do when your opinions aren't likely to be much different than those of the rest of the betting public?
We certainly have a few options, but I'll lean towards a rather cold-blooded superfecta wager and try to create some value underneath.
Breeders' Stakes 2019 Picks
Superfecta Strategy:
- 1st: 5,7
- 2nd: 5,7,9
- 3rd: 1,5,7,9
- 4th: 1,5,7,9
Total Cost = $8 for $1 base bet
If you've ever played a super, you know they are tough to hit when you are this skinny.
But nobody said this was supposed to be easy and the object is to turn a profit, not simply "hit" bets every once in a while.
I'll try may hand at a $6 base with this wager, totaling $48 and see what happens. Things could get mighty interesting if the 1-horse, Seguimi can land in the third or fourth spot.
