NHL Playoff Predictions: Ottawa Senators vs NY Rangers Game 6

NHL Playoff Predictions: Ottawa Senators vs NY Rangers Game 6

Rangers @ Senators NHL Playoffs Game 5 Review

One could argue that this match should not be necessary as New York blew big leads late in both Game 2 and Game 5 to back themselves into a “win or go home” hole. The Rangers were up 2-0 just 5:13 into Game 5 and looked like they would run the Senators out of the rink. Ottawa fought back though and they took a 3-2 lead in the second period. The Blueshirts regained the lead at 4-3 but the Sens scored with 86 second left in the match to force overtime. Ottawa dominated in extra time as they outshot New York 6-0 and Kyle Turris potted the winner 6:28 into OT to seal the deal.

NHL Eastern Conference Semifinal Series Game 6 Preview: Ottawa @ New York

A Rubik’s Cube has nothing on the Blueshirts as they have been difficult to figure out in this series. The ones that got away may come back to haunt New York as the Rangers have now trailed for just 13:10 of clock time during the first five contests. Solid during Games 3 & 4 in Gotham, Henrik Lundqvist allowed two goals on eight shots during the second period of Game 5. The King needs to continue his home pond dominance if the Rangers are going to force a Game 7 back in Ottawa.

To their credit, the Senators have showed amazing resilience as they have erased numerous deficits during all three of their victories in this series. As is the case with the Rangers last line of defense, Senators goaltender Craig Anderson also needs to step up his game as he has allowed 12 goals on 93 shots during the last three matches. Producing some offense on the road would also help as the Senators have been outscored by a 12-5 margin during their last three matches in Manhattan.

100 Units New York Rangers -1.5 (+165) ATS Bodog

NHL Playoff Picks Today – May 9, 2017 – 100 Units Rangers -1.5 (+165) Puck Line @ Bodog. Coulda – shoulda is our mantra in this series as we have snared defeat from the jaws victory during two of our three losses. Although we are still in the black, with a +25 unit profit, we would have a bloated bankroll if not for the Blueshirts blowing leads. Our series futures bets are in peril now as well – though the silver lining is a big pile of cash if New York wins the next two contests. Bodog bookmakers are almost daring bettors to take Ottawa as they are offering a very generous (+160) Senators money line. If it’s not meant to be, though we believe it is, we are going down with the ship and backing the Blueshirts with a 100 unit wager on the -1.5 (+165) Bodog puck line price.

Eastern and Western Conference NHL Semifinal Series Betting Update

At times, it's less about how much you win and more about how much you stand to lose. Since we have separate "futures" and "game day" wagering bankrolls, we are going to partially bail on our OTT vs NYR  series futures bets discussed above. If Ottawa wraps up the series - we flush 300 units down the drain. Being as the Senators straight about price is so rich we are betting 200 units on the (+160) visitors Game 6 money line. An Ottawa win tonight returns a 20 unit profit - plus our original series futures investments. A New York victory at MSG means we can work the remaining possible 110 unit profit on the Rangers vs Senators series deciding match in Ottawa on Thursday.

Speaking of futures, the Stanley Cup Championship prices have been rocked on the betting board at Bodog. Following the Washington Capitals rather dominating 4-2 Game 6 win over Pittsburgh, the Penguins have plummeted from top chalk at (+260) to third favorites with a (+450) money line. Resting and waiting for the winner of the Ducks vs Oilers Game 7 on Wednesday, the Nashville Predators (+275) are now top Stanley Cup chalk. Edmonton and Anaheim are both sporting a (+600) NHL title prices while Ottawa (+800) and New York (+1100) round out the Field of Seven. Don't forget, CSB top ranked sportsbooks offer the best playoff puck wagering on the planet.
