NHL Playoff Predictions: Ottawa Senators vs NY Rangers Game 5

NHL Playoff Predictions: Ottawa Senators vs NY Rangers Game 5

Senators @ Rangers NHL Playoff Game 4 Review: New York 4-1

Following a near carbon copy of their Game 3 attack, New York was dominant during another 4-1 win vs Ottawa. There were a couple differences though as the Rangers chased Craig Anderson after he allowed three goals on 20 shots through two periods. Also, Madison Square Garden reverted to its legendary Championship fight venue status as the third period was a brawl over the final six minutes. We cashed our Rangers money line bet to boost our bankroll to +135 units on this series.

NHL Eastern Conference Semifinal Series Game 5 Preview: New York @ Ottawa

Whether they were trying to send a message, or just blew a gasket, predicating brawls isn’t going to get Ottawa very far. While we doubt the rough stuff will spill over to this pivotal Game 5, if the score gets out of hand that could happen. Ottawa has more questions than answers as they are having a tough time scoring and keeping pucks out of their own net. Since their miracle Game 2 comeback, the Senators have two goals on fifty shots while allowing eight goals on sixty shots.

Silencing the critics who have bemoaned the Rangers play at home, the Blueshirts have now won four straight playoff games. Skill, the level of compete, plus dictating play, have been in favour of the Rangers throughout most of this series. That was evident during the last two contests and it certainly helps that Henrik Lundqvist has been sharp in net for New York. The King has benefitted from early leads, plus solid play from the Blueshirts defence, but he also looks completely dialled in.

110 Units New York Rangers (-110) Money Line William Hill

NHL Playoff Picks Today – May 6, 2017 – 110 Units NY Rangers (-110) Money Line @ William Hill. Expecting a higher compete level from Ottawa in Game 4 we felt the money line was our best bet. Turns out that it wasn’t but padding our bankroll is never a bad thing. We wonder how much gas (fight) the Senators have left in the tank. It is also concerning that Sens superstar D-Man Erik Karlsson is getting more banged up with each passing game. Although the money lines are even at (-110) New York is the favorite with a -1.5 (+275) puck line price here. After getting a bit greedy on the Ducks vs Oilers Game 5 spread line (we salvaged a PUSH thanks to LIVE OT betting) we are backing the Blueshirts with a 110-unit wager on the William Hill (-110) straight up odds today.

Eastern and Western Conference NHL 2017 Stanley Cup Futures Odds Update

Pittsburgh received some good news as super-stud Sydney Crosby is expected to play during Game 5 in Washington tonight. The Penguins handled themselves well without Sid The Kid as they took a 3-1 stranglehold on their series thanks to a 3-2 win over the Capitals. The Pens remain as top chalk to win back-to-back NHL titles with a (+260) money line price on the CSB Stanley Cup futures betting board. With the Eastern Conference dark last night, the Rangers (+700) Senators (+1000) and Capitals (+1000) lines all remained unchanged following the two thrilling contests in the West.

Minutes after Edmonton was put out of their meltdown misery in Disneyland - William Hill updated their Stanley Cup futures odds. The Oilers brief visit to the upper echelon has ended as the Alberta Crew crashed from a (+500) Cup price to a (+1600) line. Conversely, Anaheim saw their odds drop from (+700) to (+333) as the Ducks are now the second favorites. Following a 2-1 loss in St. Louis, Nashville lost a little value (+333 to +350) but the Predators return home with a 3-2 series lead on the Blues who are still overall Stanley Cup longshots with a (+1800) money line.
