NHL Playoff Predictions: Anaheim Ducks vs Edmonton Oilers Game 2

NHL Playoff Predictions: Anaheim Ducks vs Edmonton Oilers Game 2
Although it's just one loss, and there is a lot of hockey to be played, Anaheim has their back to wall as Edmonton has a 1-0 series lead heading into Game 2 of this Western Conference Semifinal clash. The Oilers and Ducks hit the ice at the Honda Center for Game 2 at 10:30 PM on April 28, 2017. Back Anaheim here.

Oilers at Ducks NHL Playoffs Game 1 Review: Oilers 5-3 Final

Game 1 between the Ducks and Oilers was a close contest. After a scoreless first frame, Anaheim took an early lead before running in penalty problems as Edmonton scored on a 5-3 man advantage to tie the match at 1-1 after forty minutes. Another power-play goal, plus an even strength tally, pushed the Oilers up 3-1 in the third frame before the Ducks score twice in less than two minutes to tie the game. Edmonton took the lead late and then potted an empty net goal to seal the deal.

NHL Western Conference Semifinal Series Game 2 Preview: Anaheim vs Edmonton

Anaheim was undisciplined during the opening match of their Western Conference Semifinal series versus Edmonton. The Oilers second period two-man advantage was actually a five on two as Ryan Getzlaf broke his stick during a faceoff prior to Edmonton’s first goal. As we expected, the Ducks played their typical “heavy” style as Anaheim outhit the Oilers by a 46-27 margin. The Ducks had a 36-32 shots on goal advantage but Cam Talbot was rock solid between the pipes for the Oilers.

Edmonton now has home ice advantage and their Game 1 victory snapped the Ducks eight game winning streak. After Anaheim did not allow a third period goal in their four first round matches vs the Calgary Flames, the Oilers netted four scores in the final frame on Wednesday. Edmonton, who were last overall in faceoff wins during the regular season, were bad again during this contest as the Ducks won that battle by a 38-29 margin – the Oilers will need to fix that moving forward.

Anaheim Ducks (-140) Money Line Odds Bodog

NHL Playoff Picks Today – April 28, 2017 – 140 Units Anaheim (-140) ML @ Bodog. A Game 1 victory doesn't decide a seven-game series but the Oilers enter Game 2 knowing they can hang with the more experienced Ducks. For their part, Anaheim has lost back-to-back contests just once over their last 32 games. The SoCal Kids also protect their home ice well as they haven’t lost two straight at the Duck Pond since way back in November 2016. Despite dropping Game 1, Anaheim is steeper chalk tonight as Bodog bookmakers have the Ducks listed as (-140) ML favorites. Feeling this series might go the distance; we'll lay the (-140) ML price and back Anaheim to win Game 2.
