NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

Will The Flames Avoid Another Letdown Loss At Home?

The Philadelphia Flyers have been mired in a puzzling losing streak during most of November, a trend which will greatly benefit the Calgary Flames on Monday night. The Flames could use an easy win or two after undergoing a relatively inconsistent month, which lead to a 5-4-1 record over their last ten.

There are no easy wins in the modern NHL because of the parity created through the salary cap, defensive play and the rise of easily-accessible analytics. Calgary are the rightful favorites at home, but they’ll need to avoid the type of mental lapses that lead to a 7-5 loss against the Oilers a couple of days ago.

Flyers at Flames: Bet Calgary Puckline (-1.5, +185)

Philadelphia have become the Arizona Coyotes of the east, suffering a ten-game losing streak which includes five losses in overtime. They were shut out by Boston during their last game, and the Flames have won five of their last seven against Philly. Calgary hasn’t been playing well at the Saddledome, but any team which plays Philly should be considered a strong favorite until the Flyers start to show signs of overcoming their slump. Maximize this opportunity with Calgary’s puckline.

Bruins at Predators: Bet Nashville SU (-135)

The Bruins have won six of their last ten meetings with the Predators, and Boston has earned two wins in a row against Nashville, including a victory on October 10th. Nashville’s one of the best home teams in the NHL, with a 10-2-1 mark at Bridgestone Arena. The Preds have a 7-2-1 mark over their last ten, and show no signs of slowing down after a superb month in November. Boston’s healthy and will challenge Nashville in Music City, but the Predators should prevail.

Islanders at Panthers: Bet Islanders SU (-130)

Other than the Islanders winning a first-round playoff series against the Panthers in 2016, Florida has performed well against New York over the past few years, winning six of the last ten regular season meetings. However, Florida has been playing questionable hockey this season, while the Isles appear ready to return to the playoffs. The Panthers don’t enjoy much of a home advantage, drawing less than 13,000 per game, so bet on the Islanders earning a road win on Monday night.

Sharks at Capitals: Bet San Jose SU (+110)

San Jose has turned into one of the best road team in the NHL, earning an impressive 7-3-1 mark away from the Shark Tank. The Sharks have also earned eight wins over their last ten meetings against the Capitals, including six straight victories in the U.S. capitol. After fading away in the playoffs, the Caps haven’t been the same, partially because of salary cap considerations which forced them to allow valuable assets to leave, getting little in return. Bet on San Jose earning an odds upset this evening.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night – High Risk/Reward

The Islanders lost a disappointing match against the Ottawa Senators during their last game, and New York will be looking to rebound with a strong effort against a relatively weak team. Tavares, Bailey, Barzal and Lee are among the best group of forwards in the NHL, and there’s a good chance that they’ll skate circles around the defense of the Panthers.

Since the puckline odds for this spread rests at +225, the payout you’ll receive for a bit more risk is worth your time and consideration.
