NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight
A hockey rivalry which predates television continues on January 17th with a clash between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins. The Habs fly into Beantown to flip the script on a recent losing trend against the Bruins, presenting the best NHL picks and pucklines opportunity on Wednesday night. Pittsburgh travels to California for the other matchup this evening, meeting with the Ducks of Anaheim.

Will Montreal Break Loss Streak Against Bruins?

The 2017-18 regular season hasn’t been kind to the Montreal Canadiens. Over their last ten games, the Canadiens have won only three times. Their road record’s a paltry 7-12-1, part of the reason the Habs remain nine points out of a wild card playoff position. Shea Weber will continue to miss games until the all-star break while he heals a foot injury.

Boston’s headed in the opposite trajectory, surviving a slow start to the regular season to usurp second place in the Atlantic Division from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins have collected points in 13 consecutive games, including nine victories during this span. There’s little reason to believe that Montreal will put up much of a fight against the Bruins.

Canadiens at Bruins – Bet Boston SU (-190)

Montreal’s had trouble beating the Bruins over the last twelve months, losing three consecutive games against Boston. These teams clashed four days ago, with the Bruins earning a 4-3 shootout win at the Bell Centre. During this historic, original six rivalry, the Canadiens have won 56.5%, but only 47.1% in Boston. Even worse, Montreal’s hasn’t responded well to the loss of Shea Weber, playing uninspiring hockey. Expect Boston to leverage home advantage for a fourth consecutive win against Montreal.

Penguins at Ducks – Bet Pittsburgh SU (+100)

After the clock struck twelve and the calendar changed to 2018, the Penguins decided to lace up their glass skates and play hockey like a team destined for the postseason. Pittsburgh’s won four in a row and dropped a single game in January, climbing into a wild card spot. The Pens have also won seven of their last ten against the Ducks, although Anaheim beat Pittsburgh just before Christmas. Since Pittsburgh appears to be back in form, expect the Penguins to resume their winning ways against the Anaheim Ducks.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night:

Boston Bruins Beat Puckline Against Montreal Canadiens (-1.5, +155)

There’s no love lost and plenty of enmity between these teams, which results in neither club allowing mercy. Montreal doesn’t play well away from La Belle Province, losing their last four road games by a cumulative total of 12-3 – all of them puckline losses. Boston already defeated the Habs in Montreal, and the Bruins appear primed to stomp the Canadiens at TD Garden. Pick the puckline to improve the payout for a Bruins win from -190 to +155.
