Will The Leafs Bounce Back From Boston Loss?

Toronto faced the second-best team in the eastern conference and learned a lesson: it will take more than the Leafs currently offer for Toronto to make a deep run in the playoffs. The Leafs have done a great job transitioning from a laughing stock to one of the most promising NHL teams in two years, but still need improvement on the defensive end.

A matchup against the Ducks gives the Maple Leafs an opportunity to play against a tough playoff team which nearly made the Stanley Cup finals last season. Anaheim may not be playing their best hockey during their road trip, but their strength down the middle will challenge Toronto’s youngsters at the Air Canada Centre.

Ducks at Maple Leafs – Bet Toronto SU (-145)

After coasting through most of January, the Toronto Maple Leafs have put together a superb run of winning hockey, boosting themselves into a 15-point lead for third place in the Atlantic. Despite a rote, 4-1 loss to the Bruins, the Leafs won five of their last seven games, including an impressive pair of back-to-back shutouts against the two New York NHL franchises. Anaheim’s won three of the last five meetings against Toronto, but a recent loss against the Canadiens suggests that the Ducks aren’t playing well on the road.

Predators at Islanders – Bet New York Islanders (+120)

Nashville will be without Filip Forsberg once again, because the NHL suspended the Predators best forward for an illegal hit while playing against the New York Rangers. New York’s won two in a row against the Predators, and six of the last eight meetings between these two teams. In fact, when they met in October, the Isles pasted Nashville with a 6-2 score. Tavares and Barzal lead a team filled with fast forwards who have climbed into playoff contention against expectations. A New York moneyline upset is a realistic risk.

Rangers at Stars – Bet Dallas SU (-210)

The Stars have won their last pair of meetings against the Rangers, including a 2-1 shootout victory in December at Madison Square Garden. Dallas continues their steady hockey with a 6-3-1 mark over their last ten, including a 6-1 blasting of the Wild a couple of days ago. New York’s fallen to the edge of the playoff bubble with a 3-7-0 record, among five eastern wild card competitors between 55-58 points. Injuries have run rampant through the Rangers lineup, including Kreider, Vesey and Shattenkirk, contributing to New York’s woes.

Lightning at Oilers – Bet Lightning Puckline (-1.5, +180)

It’s been a shocking season for the Edmonton Oilers, who don’t appear to have a realistic chance at making the playoffs this year. The Oilers are 13 points out of the last wild card spot and third place in the Pacific. The Tampa Bay Lightning remain a point in front of the Vegas Golden Knights for first place overall. There’s no reason to bet for the Oilers in this matchup, and Tampa plays well on the road with a 19-8-2 mark this season. Go ahead and choose the puckline to improve your payout for this mismatch.Dirty Dangle Of The Night:

Dallas Stars Beat Puckline Against New York Rangers (-1.5, +130)

Dallas is by far the best team in the wild card race, four points ahead of the Flames, Ducks and Avalanche. The Stars have accumulated a +26 goal differential, better than every eastern conference playoff team except the Bruins and the Lightning. New York’s hurting badly, likely to fall out of the eastern playoff race soon. The Rangers also play poorly on the road, which reduces the risk of selecting the puckline for this match.
