NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

Will The Predators Prey On The Golden Knights?

Nashville’s followed up their superb run to the Stanley Cup finals with a solid regular season thus far, competing with the Blues and the Winnipeg Jets for top spot in the western conference. They’ll host the road-shy Golden Knights in Music City for an historic matchup.

The most lopsided look of the night appears to be the Sabres against the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago hasn’t played up to their usual standards, but Buffalo hasn’t beaten the Blackhawks for seven years. The Sabres aren’t playing well enough to change this trend.

NHL Straight Up Picks & Puckline Predictions

NHL Lines: Lighting The Lamp

Blue Jackets at Devils - Bet New Jersey SU (+105)

Despite the Devils defeating the Blue Jackets by a 4-1 score on December 5th, sportsbooks have listed New Jersey as underdogs for the second part of a home and home matchup against Columbus. The Devils play better at home than on the road, which isn’t a surprise given their attendance in Newark. Still, New Jersey should be able to defeat the Blue Jackets at home. The game will likely be closer this time around, so select a straight up wager instead of the spread.

Rangers at Capitals - Bet Washington SU (-140)

Defeating the Capitals in the United States capitol isn’t an easy feat, even if Washington isn’t as powerful as they were last season. The Rangers have played poorly on the road, winning only four of nine games away from Madison Square Garden. These teams have split their last ten meets with each other, with the Capitals taking two in a row against the Rangers. Select a straight up victory for Washington on Friday night.

Golden Knights at Predators - Bet Nashville Puckline (-1.5, +155)

NHL betting fans shouldn’t consider Vegas a surprise after the expansion squad continues to win, even when they were forced to play their fourth string goalie. However, the Golden Knights road record (6-7-1) is nowhere near their impressive standard at home (11-2-0). These teams face each other for the first time ever, so there’s no head-to-head history, but the Predators are one of the best teams in the league and have lost only three of 14 at home. Pick the puckline to increase your profit.

Sabres at Blackhawks - Bet Chicago Puckline (-1.5, +145)

Nobody expected the Buffalo Sabres to make the playoffs this year, but they probably shouldn’t be the worst team in the league. Buffalo has a 2-8-0 mark over their last ten games, and have lost their last eleven games in a row against Chicago. Will the Sabres win their first game against the Blackhawks since December 2009? Nope. The Chicago moneyline is appropriately expensive (-205), so the puckline will be the path to profit for this lopsided matchup.

Wild at Ducks - Bet Anaheim SU (+100)

Anaheim’s been treading water, staying afloat in the western conference playoff race while their injury situation improves. The team made a solid, win-now trade for center Adam Henrique, who’s done well as a top-line center band-aid, earning two goals and three assists during his first four games with the Ducks. Minnesota’s lost six of their last ten against Anaheim, suggesting a slight edge for the Ducks on their own pond, which makes a positive money line great value for this scenario.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night

Washington Capitals Beat Puckline Against New York Rangers (-1.5, +200)

One of the best payouts of the evening would be the Capitals beating the spread against the New York Rangers. New York’s one of the better defensive teams in the NHL, which increases the risk of choosing a favorite puckline against them. The Capitals have won by two or more goals in four of their last six home games, which makes the puckline a relatively mild risk for the potential of doubling your initial wager.
