NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight
Will Toronto Fold The Golden Knights In Vegas?
The best expansion team in NHL history meets one of the most storied franchises in hockey for a New Year’s Eve clash. Vegas is now the hottest team in the NHL, claiming top spot in the western conference by pulling off a 10-2 run in December.
Toronto’s finishing a difficult stretch of three road games in four nights to complete 2017. After smoking the Coyotes 7-4, Toronto dropped an overtime game to the Avalanche in Colorado. Playing against Vegas in the house that T-Mobile built will prove to be a harsh way to end the year.

NHL Lines: Lighting The Lamp
Maple Leafs at Golden Knights: Bet Vegas Puckline (-1.5, +210)
Vegas is second overall in the NHL standings, winning nine of the last ten and six in a row. The Golden Knights have been nearly unbeatable at home, winning 15 of 18 at the T-Mobile Arena. The Maple Leafs are one of the few teams to beat the Golden Knights, but that was on friendly ice. Plenty of Toronto fans will invade Vegas, but winning has made the Golden Knights popular enough to draw plenty of Vegas faithful.
Since the Golden Knights beat the puckline in three of their last five, a +210 payout makes the spread worth consideration. A straight up moneyline of -120 also offers great value, despite the smaller reward.
Jets at Oilers: Bet Edmonton SU (-160)
Edmonton’s returned to full health while the Winnipeg Jets have been struck with a few big injuries. Mark Scheifele and Dustin Byfuglien won’t play against the Oilers, along with Brandon Tanev and Toby Enstrom. Winnipeg’s beaten Edmonton twice this year, but Edmonton was the wounded team in both of those matchups. Prior to these two wins, the Oilers won four straight against the Jets. Edmonton’s also won six of their last ten, suggesting that they’re finally starting to play well. Select the Oilers over an injured Jets lineup.
Blackhawks at Flames: Bet Calgary SU (-140)
Chicago’s playing their third road game in four days, which happens to be one of the most physically punishing scenarios in hockey. They lost against the Canucks to begin this tough stretch, and were saved by backup goalie Jeff Glass, who won his NHL debut against Edmonton with a 42-save evening. The Flames have won only two out of their last eight against Chicago, but the Blackhawks challenging schedule and reliance on backup goaltending doesn’t bode well on New Year’s Eve.
Dirty Dangle Of The Night:
Calgary Flames Beat Puckline Against Chicago Blackhawks (-1.5, +195)
Whenever a team gives up 45 shots, there’s a good chance that they’re not playing well. Chicago earned an overtime win against Edmonton because they were lucky enough to enjoy an outstanding debut performance from goalie Jeff Glass. Chicago may not give up 45 shots against, but it’s unlikely that they will suddenly improve during this road trip. A +195 payout for the puckline is the main reason to add risk to the wager.
