Will The Habs Sweep Alberta Trip With Oilers Win?

Montreal answered the challenge of playing without their lynchpin by snuffing the Calgary Flames in southern Alberta. The Habs hop up the highway to meet the Oilers less than a day later, creating one of the toughest challenges that NHL franchises face during the regular season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs finally receive Auston Matthews with a clean bill of health, after the young star missed a handful of games due to concussion symptoms. He’ll help the Leafs deal with one of the most difficult teams to beat on the road, the New York Rangers, who dominate the competition at Madison Square Garden.

NHL Lines: Lighting The Lamp

Maple Leafs at Rangers – Bet New York SU (-110)

The Rangers have a slight head-to-head edge against the Maple Leafs, beating Toronto in six of the last ten meetings. New York also happens to be one of the best home teams in the NHL, with a 14-5-3 mark this season. Toronto will enjoy a boost by the return of Auston Matthews, who was dealing with post-concussion symptoms. He told the media that he “feels good” prior to the Rangers tilt, which is great news, but the Rangers still hold the advantage.

Senators at Panthers – Bet Ottawa SU (+105)

Ottawa has an opportunity to build on an excellent effort against the Lightning, earning a loser point for their efforts on Thursday. Florida’s won two in a row, but they played against the Wild last evening, which means the Senators will enjoy an advantage in the rest department. The Sens have split the last four meetings in Florida, suggesting that the Panthers home advantage is less persuasive than playing in back-to-back evenings. With a +105 line, Ottawa straight up provides superb value.

Canadiens at Oilers – Bet Edmonton SU (-195)

Montreal fought to a well-deserved 3-2 victory against the Flames, travelling north to Edmonton for their second game in less than 24 hours. This schedule loss should be considered the main impediment to another win for the Canadiens, who already have to compensate for the loss of Shea Weber. Edmonton’s gaining momentum in December and they’re only going to get better with the return of defenseman Andrej Sekera. Select Edmonton, who’ve won six of their last eight against the Habs.

Blues at Canucks – Bet St. Louis SU (-145)

St. Louis has triumphed over Vancouver in six of the last seven meetings between these clubs, including consecutive shutouts in 2016. Brock Boeser returned sooner than expected, but the Canucks will still miss the services of Bo Horvat, Chris Tanev and Sven Baertschi, adding extra difficult for Vancouver. Despite a small blip in their recent results, the Blues remain one of the best teams in the NHL. Expect St. Louis to earn a road victory in British Columbia.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night

Sabres at Hurricanes – Bet Carolina Puckline (-1.5, +130)

The Buffalo Sabres could be considered the Cleveland Browns of the NHL, finding interesting ways to lose season after season. Similar the Browns, friends don’t let friends bet on the Sabres. Carolina’s young talent has been evolving at a superior rate to the Sabres prospects, beating mighty Nashville a couple of days ago. Since Buffalo’s enduring a horrible season, and the Canes have beaten the Sabres in five consecutive meetings, choose the Canes puckline for extra profit.
