Will Senators Win Their Second Game In Four Weeks?

Last season, Ottawa required a bit of extra time to reach peak performance, coalescing into a solid team around the time the calendar changed to 2017. This season, the Senators situation has been so dire that it appears impossible for the franchise to salvage a month of losing depressing hockey matches against basement dwellers like the Sabres.

At least Vancouver has an excuse to lose after injuries to Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi decimated their top six forward depth. The Canucks started the season well, but few teams have the depth to survive without two of their most important contributors.

Predators at Canucks - Bet Nashville SU (-140)

Injuries are starting to mount for the Vancouver Canucks, who will be without top center Bo Horvat and sneaky scorer Sven Baertschi. Derek Dorsett also appears finished with the sport after doctors revealed a grim prognosis of a severe back injury which threatens his quality of life. These ailments are unfortunate for these individuals and the team as a whole. Nashville’s one of the best in the league, and they will take advantage of Canucks ailments to beat Vancouver at the Rogers Arena.

Rangers at Senators - Bet New York SU (-120)

A single win in the past 13 games doesn’t quite do justice to the severe slump currently experienced by the Ottawa Senators. Since their last victory on December 1st, Ottawa has scored five goals in five losses, including a trio of shutouts. This 13-game trend started with a shutout at the hands of the New York Rangers. Perhaps opposing teams have figured out the Senators, or maybe Ottawa players have become tired of playing a passive style of trap hockey. Either way, bet against the Senators until Ottawa shows improvement.

Bruins at Red Wings - Bet Boston SU (-145)

The Boston Bruins have owned the Detroit Red Wings over the past few seasons, winning 10 of the previous 12 meetings against their original six rivals. These two teams have swapped places in the Atlantic division standings, with the Red Wings starting well before winning a single game over their last ten. The Bruins survived injury long enough to surge into third place with an 8-2-0 record over the past few weeks. Boston should be able to earn a straight up win at Little Caesars Arena.

Stars at Islanders – Bet Islanders Puckline (-1.5, +230)

Dallas haven’t beaten the Islanders in New York since December 2011, when Long Island still played hockey at the crumbling Nassau Memorial. The Stars recently beat the Rangers at Madison Square Garden, but Dallas still plays far better at home than on the road, where Dallas has a 7-9-1 mark. Three of the last four home wins that the Islanders collected over Dallas have been by two or more goals, which makes the puckline a decent proposition which could double your wager.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night

Boston Bruins Beat Puckline Against Detroit Red Wings (-1.5, +215)

Over the past few years, Boston’s domination of Detroit resulted in close wins for the Bruins in five of their last ten victories over the Red Wings. Over the last couple of weeks, Detroit has lost four of their last five defeats by two goals or more, including a 6-1 loss to St. Louis, a pair of blowouts against the Canadiens and a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings.

Given the poor play of Detroit as of late, the Bruins have an excellent shot at beating the puckline this evening, along with a superb payout that doubles your initial bet.
