NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight
Will Leafs Extend Three-Game Win Streak Over Oilers?
As the NHL regular season rolls into the holidays, the Edmonton Oilers find themselves four wins outside of a playoff spot, which is a dangerous spot for any franchise attempting to make the playoffs. The free points given after regulation makes it tough for teams who get off to a rough start to the season.
Unlike Edmonton, Toronto followed up their breakout season with consistent play, travelling to the top rungs of the eastern conference standings. The Leafs might not be able to catch the Lightning at the top of the Atlantic, but they’ll make Tampa Bay look over their shoulder for the rest of the year.

Oilers at Maple Leafs – Bet Toronto SU (-165)
Toronto dominates this matchup over the past half-decade, winning 10 out of the last 12 meetings with the Oilers. The Maple Leafs have a three-game win streak against Edmonton, including two straight victories by two or more goals. Edmonton may have just turned a corner as of late, beating Montreal at the Bell Centre, but Toronto’s a more dangerous team at home. Expect a straight up win for Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.
Wild at Sharks - Bet Minnesota SU (+105)
These teams have split their last ten meetings against each other, but the Minnesota Wild have a three-win streak against San Jose. The Sharks are solid at home and the Wild don’t have a terrific road record, trends which appear to favor Minnesota. However, San Jose will be playing with less than 24-hour rest while Minnesota had two days to decompress from their last win. A positive moneyline for Minnesota represents good value against a Sharks team with little rest.
Sabres at Blues - Bet St. Louis Puckline (-1.5, +150)
Buffalo’s at the bottom of the eastern conference with a 2-7-1 record over their last ten, while St. Louis is atop the Central Division after a three-game win streak. The Blues have beaten the Sabres in nine of their last ten games, with Buffalo breaking a nine-game loss streak the last time these teams met in February 2017. A straight up win for St. Louis has a -210 line, so choose the puckline to create more profit from this mismatch.
Coyotes at Blackhawks - Bet Chicago Puckline (-1.5, +115)
Chicago won nine of the last ten meetings with Arizona, including an eight-win streak dating back to March 2015. Five of these eight were victories by two or more goals, making the puckline an attractive option. Last night, goalie Antti Ranta stood on his head to give Arizona a shot at a win, but the rest of the team couldn’t muster a single goal against Columbus. On the second leg of two road games in two nights, don’t expect the Coyotes to put up much of a fight.
Dirty Dangle Of The Night
Toronto Maple Leafs Beat Puckline Against Edmonton Oilers (-1.5, +175)
If you’re looking for a trifecta of favorite pucklines to select, the Maple Leafs beating the Oilers by two goals is riskier than betting against the Coyotes on a road back-to-back or the Sabres under any circumstances. Edmonton’s played slightly better on the road over the past few weeks, earning wins against Boston, Calgary and Montreal.
Nonetheless, Toronto’s one of the most explosive teams in the NHL, giving the Maple Leafs a good shot at beating the spread on most nights. If you’re looking for this type of action, a +175 puckline creates solid payout for the additional peril.
