NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

Will The Blues Climb Over The Avalanche?

After the Stars and the Flames sputtered to a horrible finish during the stretch run, St. Louis made the most of their opportunity with a six-game win streak in the last two weeks of March. As such, the Blues will be in control of their own destiny.

With a game in hand and one point behind Colorado, St. Louis will clinch a playoff spot if they win their next three games. A Colorado regulation loss and two Blues victories would also kick the Avs out of the post season. St. Louis should be pleased to face a reeling Chicago club with spotty goaltending.

NHL Lines: Lighting The Lamp

Senators at Sabres – Bet Buffalo SU (-140)

Buffalo doesn’t benefit in any way from a victory, which might reduce the odds of scoring the number one pick in the 2018 draft. The Ottawa Senators have lost eight of their last ten to find themselves only three points out of last overall in the NHL. Ottawa will miss key personnel tonight, and they don’t play well on the road. Buffalo’s one of the worst teams on home ice, which evens this match somewhat. Nonetheless, wager on the Sabres to break a home losing streak tonight.

Blackhawks at Blues – Bet St. Louis Puckline (-1.5, +115)

Chicago’s a textbook example of the importance of quality goaltending. Corey Crawford’s been out for most of the regular season while his replacements have performed poorly, leading to Chicago hitting the links in April. Despite a two-game loss streak, St. Louis maintains a pony in the playoff race, a point behind the Avalanche for the final western conference wildcard spot. The Blues defeated the Blackhawks twice this season, and a third victory appears imminent.

Chicago starter J.F. Berube’s lost five consecutive starts, including three puckline losses, which makes a St. Louis puckline wager a superb option at +115.

Wild at Ducks – Bet Anaheim (-140)

Minnesota’s dealing with a brutal injury to defenseman Ryan Suter, who averages 26:47 per game, two seconds behind league leader Drew Doughty. The Wild will struggle to fill Ryan’s skates, greatly reducing Minnesota’s odds of winning. Tonight, they’re up against a tough Ducks squad who want to leap into third place in the Pacific Division. Anaheim’s defeated seven of their last ten opponents, surging just before the playoffs begin. Expect a straight up win for Anaheim on their own pond.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night

Buffalo Sabres Beat Puckline Against Ottawa Senators (-1.5, +195)

Somehow, the Sabres have defeated the Senators in five of their last six meetings, dominating this matchup over the last couple of years. Buffalo’s pulled off a couple of surprising wins lately, including a 7-4 whipping of Nashville and a tight 3-2 win over the Leafs. Ottawa will have trouble keeping up with the youthful legs of the Sabres, and a +195 puckline represents an excellent payout for the risk.
