NHL Futures: Week 6 Odds Update

NHL Futures: Week 6 Odds Update

Stanley Cup Championship Week 6 Contenders

There is a new leader atop the NHL standings as we roll into Week 6 action. Following an impressive 7-1-2 recent run, Tampa Bay (11-2-2) is now first overall with 24 points and their 58 goals (3.87 GPG) leads the league. The Bolts lead the Blues by one point as St. Louis (11-3-1) continues to shine at both ends of the rink with an NHL second best +14 GF/GA differential. Tied atop the standings heading in Week 5, Los Angeles Kings (10-2-2) slipped to third overall with 22 points - three better than New Jersey (9-3-1) and Columbus (9-4-1) who round out the top five with 19 points each.

Despite so few squads navigating the Week 5 slate on much of a roll, one win is the longest streak for any of the top ten teams right now, there were several week over week price changes on our Stanley Cup futures board. Some discrepancies exist amongst our top ranked NHL puck betting sportsbooks as Bet365 have the Lightning (+750) as their overall favorite while Bodog is still touting Toronto (+750) as top chalk. BetWay doesn't seem to impressed by the Blues balance as they have St. Louis listed with a generous +1400 Championship price. Check the lines in the bubble below!

Week 6 Stanley Cup Tip: Don't sleep on St. Louis (+1400) = Buy the Blues 2-Units @ BetWay.

Cup Final Recap: A lack of scoring and injuries sunk the St. Louis season as the Blues finished one point out of the playoffs. Congratulations to the Washington Capitals – Winners of the 2017-18 NHL Stanley Cup Championship. We are looking forward to the 2018-18 puck betting action!

04/11/17 Eastern Conference Championship Odds Update

Posted with low lines, between +350 and +700, the top of our Eastern Conference Championship futures table is tight. Linemakers agree on the top favorite though as Tampa Bay (+375) is currently consensus chalk. Although Toronto (8-7-0) fell to seventh in the East standings, apart from Bet365 (+480 to +600), the Maple Leafs line remained unchanged. Pittsburgh is a middling 8-6-2 to date and the Champs have a (+550) best price on our board. The Penguins have been pummelled by a 31-8 combined count while going winless (0-4-1) during the second match of back-to-back nights.

Quietly going about their business, New Jersey and Columbus are second and third behind Tampa Bay in the East and sit top two in the Metropolitan Division. The Devils aren't getting much love as their title price runs from (+1100) at Bet365 to a high of (+2200) at Bodog. The Blue Jackets are in a battle with division-mate Washington as they're tied with Capitals (+800) at BetWay. It is quad plus digits after that. Ottawa, who just acquired C Matt Duchene from Colorado, and New York lead the second tier as the Senator's and Rangers are sporting (+1600 to +1250) high to low lines.

East Team To Watch: NY Rangers, 5-2-0 recently, are two points out of a Wild Card playoff spot.

04/11/17 Western Conference Championship Odds Update

Shake 'Em Up was the Western Conference mantra as position and price moves were plentiful since our last update. Breaking out of a five-team bottleneck, St. Louis and Los Angeles are batting for the top chalk spot as the Blues (+475) and Kings (+500) are running close with the lowest odds to win West. Preseason favorites, Edmonton (4-8-1) Anaheim (6-6-2) and Chicago (7-6-2) have each been tagged with a season high (+1000) price on the Bet365 futures board. While only five East squads have triple-digit odds - nine of the 15 West warriors have a +950 or lower money line.

San Jose and Calgary (+1400 high at Bodog and +950 low at Bet365) joined the "Under A Grand" Club this week as the Sharks (8-5-0) won four straight and the Flames (8-6-0) bagged three wins. Expecting the Oilers and Ducks will both pick up the pace at some point, before it’s too late, the Pacific Division is going to be a full 82 game fight. While we feel Vegas and Vancouver will soon join Arizona in the Pacific basement battle – the same can’t be said for any of the clubs in Central Division chase. St. Louis has a healthy lead but just five points separate the other seven teams.

West Team To Watch: Playing solid at both ends of the ice - Keep an eye on San Jose.
