NHL Futures: Week 4 Odds Update

Stanley Cup Championship Week 4 Contenders
Prices and positions changed since our 16/10/17 NHL Stanley Cup futures odds update. Still far from establishing any consensus chalk clubs, Toronto and Tampa Bay have risen in the ranks. The Maple Leafs (+750) at SportsInteraction and Lightning (+850) at Bet365 own two of the shortest lines at the CSB top four puck betting sportsbooks heading into the Week 4 contests. With everyone else pumping up the Penguins Cup line, BetWay bookmakers still believe in a 3-Peat as they deflated (-850 to +800) Pittsburgh's price. History shows betting against Crosby, Malkin & Crew is not wise.
Hovering in or around top favorite status, since mid-June, the 2017-18 season is not progressing as planned in Edmonton. While some are more spooked than others, bookmakers now have the Oilers (2-5-0) priced between +1000 to +14000 to claim the Cup. If, like us, you still believe in McJesus & Co. Bodog is offering the best value on the Oilers. Cooling some, after a hot 4-0-0 start, St. Louis sits third overall in the standings and the Blues (6-2-1) preseason price (+3300) has shrunk to +1400 across the board. Click the bubble below to view the Cup prices heading into the Week 4 slate.

23/10/17 Eastern Conference Championship Odds Update
Continuing as one of the most entertaining teams in the league, Toronto gets the nod over Tampa Bay as the new top favorite to win the Eastern Conference. An average of 8.1 goals have been scored during the Maple Leafs eight matches. The Leafs (6-2-0) have raked their opponents 31-16 during their six wins while getting outscored 6-3 during both of their losses. The Lightning are also striking with a ton of regularity as Tampa Bay (7-1-1) sits first overall in the East. Just as hot as the Leafs on offense - the Bolts are better on defense allowing an NHL fifth best 2.5 goals per game.
Based on their dismal early season returns, we're not sure what is keeping Montreal (1-6-1) and New York (2-5-2) in the middle of the pack on the Eastern Conference futures board. Whatever it is, we aren't buying it as the Canadians have 13 goals during eight games while the Rangers aren't much better as they've lit lamp 24 times over nine matches. Detroit has fallen back to earth, as the Red Wings (4-4-1) have lost four straight and can safely be removed from any watch lists. New Jersey (6-2-0) continues to over-achieve and we still advise against making a deal with the Devils.

23/10/17 Western Conference Championship Odds Update
Winners of four straight, thanks in large part to a league best 2.00 GAA, Los Angeles remains as the lone team that hasn't lost in regulation time yet this season. The Kings (6-0-1) own a slim one-game lead over the Golden Knights in the Pacific Division. Vegas (6-1-0) rebounded from their first loss (6-3 vs Detroit) with three straight wins. Whether the Sin City Crew is a Cup contender remains to be seen but they deserve to be in the conversation early during their inaugural season. Picking up the pace, following a 1-3-0 start, Dallas opens Week 4 on a four game winning streak.
One point better than Chicago, and three clear of Dallas, St. Louis (6-2-1) leads the Central Division standings. The Blues (+650) Western Conference winning price matches the Edmonton Oilers and Blackhawks as top chalk at the Bet365 sportsbook. Although their line went unchanged across the board, we have temporarily taken Calgary off our watch list as the Flames 1-3-0 home record, plus their 4-4-0 overall mark, have us wondering if the Stampede City Crew is ready to take another step towards winning the West. Watch for NHL game day picks here and enjoy the Week 4 contests!

Huge fans of Fire on Ice wagering, we are tracking the other members of the "Significant Seven' sports leagues as well. With two weeks left in the regular season, playoff positioning is the focus of the Grey Cup contenders in the CFL. Calgary remains as top chalk to win it all but the Stampeders have been less than impressive in three of four recent contests. Regular season NFL and NCAAF battles are also hot tickets on the betting boards at CSB recommended sportsbooks. Their playoff races will reach a full sprint when CFL Championship Sunday rolls around on November 26, 2017.
Thanks to a 2-2 draw, during their season finale vs Atlanta United, Toronto FC ended the season with the most points in MLS history. The Reds 69 points eclipsed the Los Angeles Galaxy mark (68) set in 1998. The race to claim the MLS Cup begins on October 25 and leads to the Championship Final on December 9, 2017. Running in tandem with the NHL, the NBA regular is also in full swing now. Last, but not least, Los Angeles hosts Houston in Game 1 of the 2017 MLB World Series on October 24, 2017. This wagering action and more is available at these world famous sportsbooks.
