Stanley Cup Championship Week 13 Contenders
Tampa Bay continues to play head and shoulders above everyone else in the league. Although they finally lost a match this month, a close 4-3 defeat in Vegas to the Golden Knights, the Lightning are 9-1 in December. The Bolts (26-7-2) longest losing streak remains at two so far this season and no other team in the NHL can lay claim to that level of consistency. While the offense (3.79 GF/G) is still white-hot, goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has allowed just 15 goals during his last eight starts and his numbers (2.13 GAA / .932 SVPCT) are the best among netminders with at least 14 starts.
Vegas continues to shine as the Golden Knights (23-9-2) have moved into second place overall. The Sin City Crew is inching closer to the Florida Panthers expansion team record (33-34-17) established during the 1993-94 NHL season. Los Angeles and St. Louis, who have played three and four more matches respectively, are tied with Vegas at 48 points. New Jersey is also playing above preseason expectations as the Devils are tied with Nashville and round out the top six with 47 points. 25/12/17 Eastern Conference Championship Odds Update
Maintaining a seven-point edge, Tampa Bay (54 PTS) continues to lead the Eastern Conference. The Bolts edge is on New Jersey (47) now as the Devils moved past Washington (46) who slipped one point back into a third place tie with Columbus. Posting a middling (6-5-1) December record, the Blue Jackets are one point ahead of Toronto (45) in the East as the Maple Leafs stumbled into the break on a 2-4-0 slide. Thanks to hot goaltending - Boston jumped from ninth to sixth place overall.
Taking a look at the Division winning lines at SportsInteraction, the Lightning (-400) have a huge lead on the Leafs (+350) and Boston (+550) in the Atlantic. The numbers are much closer in the Metropolitan as the Devils (+300) have slim edge on the Blue Jackets and Capitals who are tied with a (+333) line. Behind the Rangers and Islanders (+600) and sliding further behind every week, five teams are ahead of the Penguins (+800) price. Don't count out Sid The Kid & Crew just yet.
Week 13 East Thoughts: The Islanders are second behind Tampa Bay (3.79) scoring 3.50 G/PG.

25/12/17 Western Conference Championship Odds Update
Try as we might, we can't find any prognosticators (including yours truly) who figured the Golden Knights stood a snowball's chance on Las Vegas Boulevard of posting a winning record during their inaugural season. While there is lots of puck action left to be played, Vegas has moved to the top of the Western Conference standings. Three of the top four rated Canada Sports Betting bookmakers have the dropped the Knights to triple digit range with Betway (+1000) being the lone holdout.
Should they win the games they have in hand, Vegas would have a six point lead on the LA Kings and an eight point bulge on the St. Louis Blues who sit tied with the Knights at 48 points. That said, the West remains wild as the top seven teams are separated by just six points. St. Louis, with three more games played, has a one point lead on Nashville and two on Winnipeg in the Central Division. The Kings and Knights are tied for the Pacific Division lead while San Jose (42) sits in third overall.
Week 13 West Thoughts: The Kings (2.34) and Sharks (2.47) have the best NHL GA/PG marks.

Beyond exciting Fire on Ice action, it is a fantastic time be a sports bettor as CSB recommended sportsbooks, like Bet365, are loaded with sports of all sorts. While a number of NCAAF Bowl games have already been played, the best of the best are yet to come as the Selection Committee "Big Four" matches play out between December 29 and New Year's Day. Also, on January 1, 2018, the final steps to the National Championship Game will be taken when #2 Oklahoma vs. #3 Georgia and #1 Clemson vs. #4 Alabama are featured in the Rose and Sugar Bowl matches respectively.
Playoff positioning is still up for grabs heading into Week 17 of the NFL regular season. Baltimore, Tennessee are in a "win and they're in" position while Los Angeles and Buffalo need help to secure an AFC Wild Card spot. If Atlanta beats Carolina, the Falcons get a chance to defend their NFC title, while a loss and a Seattle win versus Arizona moves the Seahawks into the postseason. The first round of the NFL playoffs proceeds the NCAAF title game which plays out on January 8, 2018. NBA action is also in full flight and Canucks can bet on it all at these Canada focused online sportsbooks.

As the 2019-20 NHL comes to an end, nearly one year after its start, the league looks to the 2020-21 NHL Season schedule. Outside of the 2020 NHL Draft and the start of NHL free agencies, the league has yet to announce much for the upcoming season. The league expects the season to start on December 1. However, challenges such as whether the Canada-US border will open this year, certainly make planning a challenge.
