NHL Futures: Week 11 Odds Update

Stanley Cup Championship Week 11 Contenders

Shifting regularly, the overall NHL leader board has changed again as St. Louis (21-8-2) is riding a four-game winning streak and the Blues have bounced back into first place. The Blues put a mini 0-2-1 slide behind them by outscoring Montreal, Dallas, Detroit and Buffalo by a 16-6 combined count. The lead is tenuous though as Tampa Bay (21-6-2) has also won four straight contests and the Lightning are a tiebreaker behind St. Louis. Still better than any team in the NHL, when it comes to lighting the lamp, the Bolts bashed the Sharks, Islanders, Avalanche and Jets by a 20-9 margin.

Los Angeles rebounded from a 2-6-2 slide, as the Kings (20-8-3) posted eight straight wins and now sit third. Goaltending continues to be the storyline in SoCal as Jonathan Quick and Darcy Kuemper shut down some fairly potent opponents to lead the Kings to a 30-13 winning margin during their current hot streak. Toronto continues to shine as well as the Maple Leafs (20-10-1) are 12-3-1 over their last 16 matches and sit one point ahead of the Nashville Predators (18-7-4) who round out the top five overall standings. Our bubble below contains the most recent Stanley Cup futures lines.

Heading Into Week 11: Winnipeg looks to get back on track as the Jets have lost three straight.

11/12/17 Eastern Conference Championship Odds Update

Week over week changes were prevalent in the Eastern Conference. Tampa continues to lead the way but Toronto moved past Columbus into second place. The Lightning's East title futures line dropped at two of the top four CSB sportsbooks and the Bolts best price (+333) is at Betway. The Maple Leafs, who just defeated Calgary, Pittsburgh and Edmonton by a 7-4 margin, are clear-cut second chalk and the Buds best value (+450) is also available at Betway. Toronto is looking to follow in the footsteps of the Argonauts and Reds who are 2017 CFL and MLS Champions respectively.

Despite a 10-3-0 winning run, and sitting first overall in the Metropolitan Division, Columbus saw their price grow at three CSB bookmakers. SportsInteraction and Bodog moved the Blue Jackets line from +600 to +650 since our Week 10 update. Washington heating up may have something to do with the Jackets price bump as the Capitals are 8-2-0 over their last ten contests and they trail Columbus by two points. Early season darlings, New Jersey has stumbled some as the Devils are on a 2-4-0 slide and their Eastern Conference Championship line has inflated to +1200 at Bodog.

Week 11 East Thoughts: If you like Washington, the Caps +1100 price should be bought now.

11/12/17 Western Conference Championship Odds Update

Home to five of the top eight teams in the overall NHL standings, the battle at the top of the Western Conference continues to rage. In fact, if Winnipeg, Nashville and Vegas win the games in hand they have on Los Angles and St. Louis, those five teams will be separated by just three points. As it stands heading into Week 11, the Blues (44) have a one point lead on the Kings (43) and they have both played 31 matches. Defending Champion Nashville (40) is four back of the Blues while the Golden Knights (39) continue to defy the odds, as they are just five points out of first place.

West leaders deserve their positioning as the top four teams are on a 28-8-4 roll while the next four squads have struggled to a 21-12-7 mark during the same stretch. Somewhat surprising, Bet365 bookmakers now have the Kings as overall favorites in the West with a +425 price while the Blues and Predators are tied as second chalk with a +475 line. It needs to be noted that St. Louis will be without their second leader scorer as LW Jaden Schwartz has an ankle injury that will keep him out for at least six weeks. Arizona, with an NHL worst 7-21-5 record, is first to the +100K price level.

Week 11 West Thoughts: SportsInteraction and Bodog offer the LA Kings best line (+650).

Toronto MLS Champs - NFL Playoff Races Heat Up

Hearty congratulations are in order as Toronto capped a record setting season with a 2-0 win over Seattle in the 2017 MLS Cup Championship at BMO Field on Saturday. The Reds dominated the Sounders as they owned the TOP (57% to 43%) and posted an 11-2 edge in shots on target. The win cements the Reds as one of the best sports teams ever and we give a shout out to our Soccer 'Capping Crew who were near prefect with their title game predictions. Toronto FC will attempt to become the fourth team to win back-to-back MLS titles when the season begins in March 2018.

With the NCAAF Championship match 28 days away, the NFL takes over the playoff watchtower. New England is in Miami to wrap up Week 14 action tonight and then we are down to three weeks left on the regular season slate. Our Super Bowl LII futures took a hit as Philadelphia lost MVP contending QB Carson Wentz to a season ending knee injury. It's a tough blow for the Eagles who now turn to QB Nick Foles to guide the ship. We'll break down the implications in our Week 15 playoff update on 14/12/17. The NBA and NHL are also hot tickets at these online sportsbooks.
