2017 NHL Eastern Conference Futures Betting Lines
This year, Lord Stanley will be defended out East by the Pittsburgh Penguins; and they may not even be the best team in the conference. Washington fans feel like this is one hundred percent their year (after last year was supposed to be their year) and the Pens and the Caps sit atop the conference, odds and expectations wise. And either of those teams could win the Cup. However, there’s a second tier of teams who could knock off the top teams. But for now, most oddsmakers have it as Pittsburgh’s conference until someone proves otherwise.
NHL Eastern Conference Odds
You see the top two teams, as we stated above. But look at that middle class! The Lightning, The Rangers, the Bruins, the Flyers, the Islanders, the Red Wings, the Panthers and the Habs-- 8 teams within 800 points of each other. And there are 4 teams within 200 points of each other.
Only 6 of those teams get to make the playoffs (assuming nothing drastic happens to the Pens or the Caps), so there are going to be a lot of heated inter-conference games and the final 2-3 playoffs spots may go down to the last day or two of the regular season.
NHL Eastern Conference Winner Prediction
BET Pittsburgh Penguins @+400 On William Hill. Meanwhile, in the cellar, The Blue Jackets, Senators, Devils, Sabres, Leafs and Hurricanes are all poised to battle it out for last place. None of the 3 (The Jackets having the worst odds) are even within shouting distance of the middle class. So if you know something oddsmakers don’t know, by all means bet on one of them and enjoy a massive pay day.
2016/17 NHL Eastern Conference Schedule
The NHL season is an amazing chance for hockey lovers to get in on some great betting action. It’s a crazy 82 game regular season, so there are multiple games every night for you to bet on.
This year’s season will be preceded by the World Cup of Hockey, held in Toronto. Some people see it as no more than an intense pre-season and training for the NHL, others see it as an unnecessary risk and drain for the NHL’s top talent.
Canadian fans probably watch more Eastern Conference Hockey than the Western conference, as it is home for Canadian Teams such as the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Ottawa Senators. The downside is, only the Habs are favoured to have a winning season next year. We’re not used to this from the Sens, as they have missed the playoffs only 5 times in the last 20 years. The Leafs on the other hand, have only 1 playoff appearance since games were broadcast in HD (13 years).
