Bruins @ Senators Game 1 Prediction - Boston Bruins 2-1 Final
Preview: Call it “having their number” but the Senators have loved battling the Bruins as Ottawa has outscored Boston by a 39-27 count recently. The numbers don’t tell the whole story as Boston scored two goals or less in nine of the last twelve games. Ottawa is in good health while the Bruins are missing their top D-Man as Torey Krug will not play in this series.
Game 1 Prediction: Ottawa 100 Units (+115) Money Line at Sports Interaction. Despite having home ice advantage, Ottawa enters Game 1 as dogs vs Boston. Tuukka Rask (37-20-5 GAA 2.23) faces Craig Anderson (25-11-4 GAA 2.28) in a goaltending duel that’s an even matchup. Boston will also be without their #3 D-Man Brandon Carlo here. Tempted to load up on the +1.5 puck line at SportsInteraction, we are backing a straight up Senators win.
Bruins @ Senators Game 2 Prediction - Ottawa 4-3 (OT) Final PUSH
Game 1 Recap and Game 2 Preview: Making the mistake of not following our instincts, we were on the wrong side here as Boston bagged a 2-1 Game 1 win. Ottawa outshot the Bruins 12-0 in the second period and held a 1-0 lead heading into the final frame. Boston turned the table in the third with an 11-6 shot advantage and score twice to seal the deal. The visitors are down another player as David Krejci joins Torey Krug and Brandon Carlo on the injury list. The William Hill alternate puck betting odds have caught our eye today.
Game 2 Prediction: Ottawa 100 Units -1.0 (+175) at William Hill. Facing a bunch of injuries, at the worst possible time, Boston may be wondering if some Hersey Bears are still around. Krejci was a late-scratch prior to Game 1 and he will miss today’s match as well. As was the case with the Oilers and Canadiens, the Senators don’t want to leave home with a 0-2 series deficit. Owning at least a split, we don't believe Boston will just mail it in but Ottawa will be very hungry at home. We are backing the Senators with a 100 unit wager on the -1.0 (+175) Alternate Puck Line price posted at the world-class William Hill online sportsbook.
Senators @ Bruins Game 3 Prediction - Ottawa 4-3 (OT) Final
Game 2 Recap and Game 3 Preview: Ottawa pulled a rabbit out of their hat as they fought back from being down 3-1 and posted a 4-3 OT victory to even their series with Boston. The Bruins were up 3-1 at the end of two periods but the Senators scored two quick goals in the third frame before Dion Phaneuf potted the winner in overtime. That gave us a PUSH on our Game 2 wager at William Hill. Similar to the Montreal vs New York matchup, there isn’t much separating these teams and this series seems destined to go the seven game distance.
Game 3 Prediction: Ottawa 220 Units +1.5 (-220) at Bet365. With this series shifting to Beantown, the Bruins take over as chalk at Bet365. Injuries continue to mount in Boston as Adam McQuaid left Game 2 and joined Torey Krug, David Krejic and Brandon Carlo in the infirmary. Krejic is expected back tonight but the Bruins are running out of D-Men. On the other side – Ottawa is near 100% healthy. These teams have played four straight games that were decided by one goal. Take the +1.5 (-220) pucks at Bet365 and back Ottawa here.
Senators @ Bruins Game 4 Prediction - Ottawa 1-0 Final Game Total Under
Game 3 Recap and Game 4 Preview: For a second straight game, Ottawa posted a 4-3 OT win to take a 2-1 series lead. After fighting back from 3-1 deficit in Game 2, prior to winning in OT, the Sens blew a 3-0 lead in Game 3 before Bobby Ryan scored a power play goal 5:43 into extra time. Although they are down 2-1 in this series, Bodog bookmakers have posted Boston as heavy favorites at TD Garden Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 PM ET and, with a win here, the Senators can close out the series during Game 5 in Ottawa on Friday night.
Game 4 Prediction: OVER 4.5 (-190) Goals 190 Units at Bodog. David Krejic has returned to the Boston lineup but the Bruins are still down three top players on defense. After stellar efforts in Game 1, neither goaltender has been particularly sharp during the last two games but Tuukka Rask will face Craig Anderson again tonight. The count is now five games that have been decided by one goal between these teams. Sensing that the frequent scoring will continue - we are betting OVER on the 4.5 (-190) alternate goal total posted at Bodog.
Bruins @ Senators Game 5 Prediction - Boston Bruins 3-2 (2OT) Final
Game 4 Recap and Game 5 Preview: After netting seven goals in their previous two NHL playoff battles, we took a leap of faith on that continuing in Game 4. However, watching paint dry would have been more entertaining than the Game 4 “action” as Ottawa posted a 1-0 victory. The Sens now have a commanding 3-1 match lead over Boston. With the series shifting back to Canada’s Capital, the Senators and can send the Bruins to the sidelines with a win tonight. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 PM ET at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata.
Game 5 Prediction: Ottawa 100 Units -1.0 (+175) at William Hill. Being as they've played four straight one-goal games, we are not surprised by the tight Game 5 odds at the William Hill CSB top rated online sportsbook. Something seems fishy though as Boston is slim road chalk tonight. Injury woes continue to hamper the Bruins while the Senators are healthy and rolling. Feeling the streak of one-goal games ends – we are laying the -1.0 (+175) puck line handicap posted at William Hill and siding with the Senators to close out this series.
Bruins @ Senators Game 6 Prediction - Ottawa Senators 3-2 (OT) Final
Game 5 Recap and Game 6 Preview: We watched another lead slip away, the Sens were up 2-0 at home, as Boston staved off elimination with a 3-2 (2OT) win in Ontario on Friday. This one could come back to haunt the Senators as the Bruins are back in the series with the scene shifting to Beantown for a matinee match today. Scoring opportunities were rare again as the Sens outshot the Bruins 24-21 during the first three periods of this contest. After they won games 3 and 4 in Boston - Ottawa won’t be intimidated when they hit ice today.
Game 6 Prediction: Boston 300 Units (-150) Money Line at SportsInteraction. Separation between these clubs is near zero as they have now played five straight one-goal contests and three of them have gone into extra time. SportsInteraction bookmakers have posted Boston as home chalk for this match that hits the ice at TD Garden Arena at 3:00 PM ET. Expecting one team to break out over the other has proven fruitless so it's certainly not unreasonable to expect another tight fight again today. Betting Boston will force a Game 7, back at the Canadian Tire Centre, we are backing the Bruins (-150) money line in Game 6.
