F1 Odds: Bet365 Predicts An Epic Season Final in Abu Dhabi

F1 Odds: Bet365 Predicts An Epic Season Final in Abu Dhabi

F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Odds

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been around since 2009 and was the first day-night race on the F1 calendar. It is held at the Yas Marina Circuit, known for promoting a very open race with plenty of potential for overtaking. Out of the eight races held so far, both Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton have won on three occasions, and it was Hamilton who won in last year's race, in what was one of the closest Driver's Championship finishes in history.

Hamilton of course won the last four races in 2016 to heap the pressure on Nico Rosberg, although the German finished second in each of these races and managed to hold onto the Driver's Championship in what would be his final season.

The 2017 Championship by contrast will not be anywhere near as exciting, given that Hamilton has already wrapped up the title after his ninth-place finish in the Mexican GP.

The Constructor's Championship was won a week earlier at the American Grand Prix by a dominant Mercedes pairing featuring Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, which means that this year's race at Abu Dhabi will serve solely as an opportunity for drivers to improve on their personal records.

For Hamilton, he can make it ten wins for the season and edge closer to the great Michael Schumacher, so there's always something to race for.

Below are the odds available from Bet365.com.

Abu Dhabi GP Podium Finish

One of the top markets available in F1 betting is the podium finish line, which pays if your driver of choice finishes in the top three. Naturally, the odds are quite short for the favourites, so if you're brave you can back against Sebastian Vettel making the podium for the 13th time this year. Lewis Hamilton once again appears as the favourite for this race and is almost certain to appear on the podium at the Abu Dhabi GP.

Abu Dhabi GP Podium Finish

While Hamilton is far too short to bet on, you can get decent odds on plenty of other drivers in the podium finish market. The best pick here is Max Verstappen, who has made the podium in three of his last five starts including two impressive wins.

He finished fourth at the Yas Marina circuit in 2016 behind Hamilton, Vettel and Rosberg, and will once again be around the top drivers. At odds of +120, he presents great value.

Valtteri Bottas is another good pick in this market. He has featured on the podium twelve times in 2017, the same number as both Hamilton and Vettel. His Mercedes will be hard to beat on the Yas Marina circuit, so his -200 price appears to be pretty accurate here.

A good tip is to closely observe the action on Friday and of course the qualification round on Saturday before making a decision on your wager for the main race props.

Abu Dhabi GP Fastest Lap

On a track that shouldn't pose too many challenges to elite F1 drivers, and with dry conditions forecast for the weekend, it would appear as though the Mercedes drivers will have the upper hand when it comes to recording the quickest lap in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi GP Fastest Lap

Lewis Hamilton again leads the way in this market, priced at +175 with Sebastian Vettel close behind at +250. From there you can see a large jump to Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas in third a +750, with Kimi Raikkonen rated the only other realistic chance at +800.

Verstappen recorded the fastest lap at the recent Brazilian GP, and as mentioned above we feel as though he is a good chance for a position on the podium in this race. He has certainly been one of the form drivers over the last five weeks and you could do worse than place a bet on the Dutchman to get up in this category.

Our pick though is Sebastian Vettel at +250. The German has won three times at Abu Dhabi and recorded the fastest lap last time out. While Lewis Hamilton recorded the fastest lap in the 2015 season, we feel as though the 2017 winner will not push the envelope in a race that will have no bearing on his season.

Abu Dhabi GP Predictions

We think Sebastian Vettel will win the final race of the year and at odds of +225 he presents decent value for the outright market. As mentioned above, we also think he is capable of recording the fastest lap, while Verstappen is a great chance of finishing on the podium.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Betting Tips

There are plenty of other ways to bet on the Abu Dhabi GP, which is great news if you are a fan of one of the drivers outside of the top six, for instance Canada's very own Lance Stroll. While he has graced the podium this season it is extremely unlikely that we will see him there again, and his odds of +15000 are a testament to that. You would be much better off looking at some of the other position-based markets.

Bet365 offers a number of these markets, most notably the 'top six finish' and 'points finish' lines. Given that this is the last race of the season, there are sure to be a few surprises in the final standings. Esteban Ocon has made it into the top six on seven occasions in 2017 and offers +120 to do so in Abu Dhabi, while Sergio Perez is normally seen as the best of the rest and offers +125 to record his sixth top six finish of the year.

You can also place a wager on a large selection of driver-specific markets, such as the first driver to be retired, the first to pit and even whether or not a driver will be caught speeding in the pit lane. There are plenty to choose from which is great if exotic bets such as these interest you more than the outright markets.
