Premier League Games This Weekend
City looking for a Sweet 16...
In their record setting 15 game winning streak Manchester City have won games early and won them at the death. They have come away from Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford victorious and smashed Liverpool and Arsenal at home as well. So when Tottenham visit the Etihad this Saturday December 16th at 12:30pm EST Pep Guardiola gets to face the only top 6 team he has not yet beaten as a manager in England, and a team that City hasn't beaten since 2015.
And it's not hard to figure why Spurs have had so much recent success against the Premier League leaders. Under Pochettino, Tottenham notoriously play up or down to the level of their competition evidenced in games against Liverpool and Real Madrid this season where they put their best foot forward only to then unthinkably drop points at home to Swansea and Burnley.
Analytically, teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid and by extension Man City play on the front foot and attack. Spurs by design look to exploit the space that attack minded teams leave on the counter attack. Man City in every game, even when they have close to 80% possession still give up chances in their own box, so both teams are well aware as to how this game will be won or lost.
Sit back and enjoy this one. Either team can win, but in any case Tottenham keep it close.TOTTENHAM +1 (Even) Bodog
STOP... Hammer Time
Allegedly West Ham fans were heard singing "we're going down" in the stands during David Moyes' first game as manager. If true, he has given them reason to at least temporarily bite their tongues. In 3 games at City and home to Chelsea and Arsenal he has claimed 4 points which for any team, let alone one in a relegation spot, is very respectable.
Now West Ham get a step down in quality when they go to Stoke on Saturday. Also a bottom dweller, Stoke have some decent players yet can not get the most of our their parts, which ultimately will lie at the foot of the manager. In any case West Ham are a live dog, and can not afford to let opportunities for points slip by.WEST HAM +0.5 (-145) Bodog
