2016 AFC North Futures Betting Lines
The AFC North has turned into an exciting division. It has produced more playoff teams in the past decade than any other single division. It has also given us some great rivalries between Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Baltimore. The division is so balanced, in fact, that since 2007, the Steelers, Bengals, and Ravens have each gone to the playoffs six times. This can make it tough to figure out a winner, but don't fret. It is still possible to make a value pick.
2016 NFL AFC North Outright Betting Lines
The Steelers are coming in as favorites to win the division, but with such a tight race, they might be overvalued at the current price. They have question marks for both their offense and defense. RB Le'Veon Bell is returning from an injury, so his efficiency is still up in the air. Big Ben is also a mystery, as he gets banged up and injured each season, and coming back a year older against the defensive minded teams in the AFC North could be a tough ticket. Their defense is also in dire need of direction, coming off a horrendous year ranking 30th in the league in pass defense. Big Ben will need a godly year to compensate for his team's deficiencies and we just don't think odds of +120 are merited here.
Bet Cincinnati Bengals +180 On Sports Interaction
If you want value, the Cincinnati Bengals would be a better choice. The Cats are coming off of a great regular season, and their only unknown factor would be the departure of Hue Jackson, their offensive coordinator. This most likely won't affect QB Andy Dalton that much, as he grew into his role well, and has played great even without Jackson. Whoever steps in would most likely be just as good, and even if not, Dalton is seasoned enough for it not to affect his play.
2016/17 NFL Schedule and Betting Lines
The Ravens are coming into this season after a slew of injuries led to their downfall last year. They were without QB Joe Flacco and star receiver Steve Smith, among countless others. Could they bounce back this year with a healthy team? Sorry to say Ravens fans, it's not looking like it. Steve Smith is getting older and more injury prone, and Flacco just doesn't seem to have it in him to make his team stand out when compared to the Bengals and Steelers. The books seem to agree, and at +300, there is no value in taking them.
As for the Cleveland Browns, we won't be backing them here, but they are not forgotten! They will most likely be good ATS plays on them throughout the season, so watch out for that. The AFC North however, comes down to the Steelers and Bengals, and at +180 the Bengals are the best bet.
