2016 AFC East Futures Betting Lines
The New England Patriots are overwhelming favorites to win the AFC East again this season. In an intriguing turn of events, the reigning AFC East champions are going to be without their star quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the season due to suspension. Four games in a sixteen game season is significant. The last time the Patriots lost their division was in 2008 when Brady sustained a knee injury in Week 1. Since then, the Pats have won the AFC East seven straight seasons.

Despite Brady's absence, the books still have the Pats are overwhelming favorites to win the division. Don't forget, Tom Brady isn't coming back from an injury. We won't have to worry about his minutes or lingering pain. When he returns, he will return with a chip on his shoulder and make it his duty to play his absolute best so everyone forgets about his suspension. Not only that, but Brady will be the most rested and least banged up QB in the league after his return. While some might point out that he is getting old, that has been true for years, yet season after season, Brady is one of the most elite QBs in the league, and he wants to play many more years.

Between the other contenders, only the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets really have a chance of breaking the Patriots' streak, albeit a small one. While the Pats have QB issues, the other teams have issues of their own to deal with. Sheldon Richardson is out due to suspension in Week 1, and the Bills are going to be without three defensemen, including Shaq Lawson and Marsell Dareus.
2016/17 NFL Schedule and Betting Lines
While the Pats have the most value, another possible bet would be the Bills. QB Tyrod Taylor has shown glimpses of greatness, and has it in him to give the Pats a run for their money. They get to strike in Week 4, right before Brady returns, and if they can steal one in Foxbourough, it could be a momentum shifter. The Bills also added key additions to their defense and could provide a good counter to New England.
While the Jets could also upset the Pats, they just don't have a competent QB in Ryan Fitzpatrick, and they don't play Belichick's team until Week 12, after Brady's already made his comeback and shed his rust. Speaking of corrosion and deterioration, the Miami Dolphins have just added a new coach and this year could possibly just be a rebuilding season for them.
Take the Pats to win the division, and if you want some more excitement, be sure to sprinkle a bit on the Bills at Sports Interaction in case they take advantage of Brady's absense.
