Toronto Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers

My Team's Next MatchToronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays (23-26) are looking to net their 6th win in a row on Sunday when they host the Rangers (24-26), who have been playing terribly on the road. Trying to put the forgettable start to the season behind them, the Blue Birds just need a few more wins to hit the .500 mark.

Though still last place in the AL East, the Blue Jays are definitely trending upwards, having won 5 straight. They won their last game on Saturday 3-1 against the visiting Rangers to hit 10-3 in their last 13 home games. Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki have finally returned, but they sat out Saturday's game. After an April that saw the team go 8-17, they are 15-9 so far in May.

The Texas Rangers aren't impressing at the moment though. Despite a slightly better record, and higher place in their respective division, Texas isn't playing well, especially on the road. They have lost 5 in a row, and are only hitting .219 on the road. Away from home, they are 8-18 this year.

TEXAS RANGERS +1.5 (-135) SportsInteraction

Andrew Cashner (1-4, 3.18 ERA) starts for the Rangers, but the right hander hasn't won a road game in 18 starts, since September 15, 2015. He is 0-9, with a 6.91 ERA in those games, and this season, he's 0-3, with a 4.43 ERA on the road. In his only start against the Blue Jays, he got a no decision after allowing 3 runs in 6 innings.

For the Blue Jays, Joe Biagini (1-2, 3.75 ERA) takes the mound again, for the 5th start of his career. In his first 4 starts, he's 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA. His team, however, went 3-1. The right hander has a perfect 4-0 record, with a 2.09 ERA in 39 home games. Against the Rangers, he's 1-0, holding them scoreless in 2 relief appearances, totalling 3.1 innings.

MLB Picks And Parlays Today

Toronto might be flying high right now, but they are not the correct pick at this price. Sure, Texas has lost it's last 6 in Toronto, and are an abysmal 9-24 in their last 33 games against them, but they are still a good midleague team. While it'll be tough, Cashner will either settle down and pitch a great game, or the Texas bats will light up and make a game out of it, but don't expect an easy Toronto win here. This is the same Texas team who just won 10 in a row.

Biagini could get into trouble tomorrow, and with him being allowed to reach for a higher pitch count, look for some problems with his control when he gets deeper in the game.

He threw 77 pitches in his last game. Cashner might seem terrible on the surface, but he has a 2.16 ERA in his last 4 starts. He might not get the win here tomorrow, but a no decision will suffice. We will take the insurance run in case Toronto does eke out a win.

Take the Texas Rangers +1.5 at -135 at Sports Interaction.

Handicapping MLB Starting Pitchers For Baseball Betting
Major League Baseball revolves around pitching, more so when the playoffs roll around in October. Contenders with big bats and slick fielders will only go as far as their pitching staff allows. As such, handicapping starting pitchers reveals the odds that a team will win an individual ballgame. Baseball clubs with the best starting pitchers have a much greater chance of winning pennants and World Series rings.
