Washington vs San Diego: Back the Nationals as Leg One

Washington looks to get back on track as they have lost two straight - including a 5-3 decision to the Padres in the first of this three-game series last night. Still one of the better teams in baseball, Washington owns a 4.5 game lead on the Miami Marlins in the NL East. RHP Max Scherzer (10-6 ERA 2.94) gets the call and he has allowed three runs, over 27.1 innings, during his last four starts.

San Diego has been inconsistent as the Padres are 42-55 and 15.5 games behind San Francisco in the NL West Division. The Friars victory last night snapped a four-game winless run during which the Padres were outscored by a 23-11 margin. San Diego sends RHP Edwin Jackson (1-1 ERA 4.76) to the bump. Jackson was picked up off waivers on July 16 after Miami released him.

Boston Red Sox vs Minnesota Twins: MLB Parlay Wagering Selection Leg Two

Looking for a measure of revenge, after Minnesota won 2-1 last night, Boston sends LHP David Price (9-7 ERA 436) to the bump tonight. Price has been up an down during his first season in Beantown but he has won five straight versus the Twins. Just a half game behind Baltimore in the AL East standings Boston mauled Minnesota 13-2 during the first match of this four-game series.

A miserable season continues in Minnesota. The Twins are 36-60 and they are 20.5 games out of first place in the AL Central plus 17 games back in the MLB Wild Card playoff race. Veteran RHP Ricky Nolasco (4-8 ERA 5.02) toes the rubber for the Twins tonight. Nolasco’s numbers have been better in July as he has allowed seven runs, over 18 innings pitched, during three starts this month.
